@somehmonggirl See what you mean. I have been waiting for this month for 2+ years so yea. Also I really have nothing to do for my classes to distract me. So hopfully we will know our fate soon. When did you finally hear back last year?
@Mastadon Ah nice. @HopefullyIGetIn Same. I have finals coming up and waiting on Vandy is quite the distraction.
Weirdly, my email says May 2nd but I don’t recall having my decision until after my birthday (May 7). My email dates are wonky sometimes, but it could have been May 2 or May 9
Do you guys think that a 3.8 GPA as an entering junior is competitive amongst this year’s applicants?
How could we truthly answer that question based on the information in this thread? This thread is a small, non-random sample and its, presumably, the only info we have on this years applicants. So any answer would be a bad guess if anything.
@HopefullyIGetIn Thats true, I just wish Vandy was more clear with their admissions statistics like most other colleges, it just says on their site that most accepted transfers have a B+/A- average.
Hey friends!
Sorry I didn’t post sooner, but I called my admissions officer earlier today and was given the ambiguous, “First wave will probably be coming out in a couple of weeks” answer. She did tell me that they only started reviewing apps today, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
Sorry this isn’t too much info that y’all didn’t already know, but hopefully, this alleviates any kind of stress that you may/may not potentially have?
@JSPHHAN If they started reviewing today, why would it not be possible that they start sending decisions the end of this week
@Mastodon97 Because they like toying with our emotions…
All jokes aside, by no means etch the “couple of weeks” into stone. I bet they’ve told that to plenty of applicants in the past, and they’ve all received admission decisions before, on, and after the ambiguous mid-April deadline. All we can do now is hope and wait. TBH, with a community like this, I’m far more at ease than I would be if I were waiting alone, so props to all of you!
I get the strong inclination that most of the time, people answering the phones at Admission Offices do not know much more than we do. They are most likely given form answers (“mid to late April”) for the same question (“When will decisions be released?”) they hear 100+ times any given day, and do not receive additional info until the last moment.
The ones answering the phones are not the ones making the decisions.
So we’re getting 3rd week of April,1st week of April… How about we find the middle ground and make everyone happy? 2nd week of April. That sounds good
I did some digging in past forums. Here is the date of first waves of each year
2016: 4/11 (Monday)
2015: 4/06 (Monday)
2014: 4/05 (Saturday)(but I guess portal was updated at midnight, so kinda like a Friday night)
Judging by this then first wave could be up on Monday. Also I agree with MJ, especially after seeing when they have been posted in past. They probably just want to be safe. Nobody will really get mad if they release decision earlier then they say, but if they post it later its a different story.
Uhhhh now I am really worried. Help. I submitted my app on the date of the deadline and got my portal thing a few days latter. I have been checking often and everything except the commonapp stuff such as lor and application fee have been checked off. I sent all my transcripts, along with it college report, and all the supplement materials much before the deadline. What do I do???
I would call/email them.
@HopefullyIGetIn Yeah, exactly. It’s the same strategy airlines use when they deliberately overestimate the flight time so that way, if they get you in before then, they look good (even if they technically took longer than they should have).
Yes and like airlines college tend to nickle and dime you with fees!!!
Judging by what @HopefullyIGetIn is stating, I would say we could expect to hear back on Monday, April 10th.
Future transfer students are going to look at this thread and chuckle at the straw picking here hahahah
@joonyblue12 Did you not submit LOR’s and the common app fee yet or were they checked off before and only now became “incomplete”?
guessing randomly when decisions will come out alleviates some of my anxiety over it haha
Check your common app and see if the LORs on there say “Submitted” vs “Downloaded” with the latter meaning they have it
