@VaishS I can tell you from experience right now an important lesson from looking at countless past transfer threads for various colleges. You are bound to find someone with the exact same stats as you who got accepted to that particular school, BUT you will also find someone that is similar who got rejected.
Can Vanderbilt just give us a hard date and time when they will release decisions? Even if it’s 3-4 weeks from now, I won’t mind because it’s less stressful then waiting without a clue about when they’ll decide your fate.
@somehmonggirl lolol so u will be meeting him in the campus if you decide to go to vandy awks
I remember at a Wesleyan first year info session they said two counselors each spend about 15-20 minutes reading the app before the committee vote, but I don’t know what system Vandy uses.
Fine guys I won’t, ill go back to my 13 reasons why marathon instead
I had a dream last night that I got rejected from Penn, thus the sudden interest in researching past applicants xD
Ill try to distract myself though
@limitsbylaw I actually think it’s the opposite way that would make it more stressful, if you don’t know when the decision is coming you’re not gonna be as stressed out as if they told you the fixed date. I feel like I’d just get more anxious and stressed out as that particular day neared.
@inordie yeah, but he’s living off campus next year (he’s a rising senior) and i’d be a cellular and molecular biology major so hopefully we won’t run into one another! hopefully. lol
If it makes you feel any better I had a dream I got waitlisted from UNC a couple weeks ago.
@somehmonggirl If you run into him just punch him in the face lol.
I literally wake up every night at like 1AM because I have an urge to check my portal or email because i dream about getting my decisions and stuff and at this point whenever i wake up if it’s not light outside i just go back to sleep. purposefully leave my phone at home during class. close the tab with vandy portal on it. try to live peacefully during this horribly stressful time lol
also i agree that i would rather have a further away exact date than a potentially closer random date
Vanderbilt transfer acceptance rate dropped 8% from 2015 to 2016 jeez. I really really hope it doesn’t go down that much again.
@HopefullyIGetIn Since we have very similar apps, where do you put our chances at getting into Vandy just for the fun of it lol XD We have some precedent with UNC I guess.
@HopefullyIGetIn i might “accidentally” drop kick him
@pearmetty was it really that low? where did you get that stat?
@HopefullyIGetIn that’s mean
Same here. Past few weeks, I’ve been dreaming about getting into schools, but then when wake up, I realize that it was just a dream. Then I continue on with my depressing life. Lol
oh dropped 8% from what to what rather. and where did you get the stat?
@pearmetty No it didn’t. It dropped 3 percent last year to 29%. I just looked through Vanderbilt’s Common Data set.
quote from the Vandy website: “Last year we received a total of 1,151 transfer applications and made 366 offers of admission. This boils down to an admit rate of just under 32%, which was around 8% lower than the prior year. Just like with our freshmen, the transfer admission process is a competitive one, and is getting more so each year.”
I hope it doesn’t go down to like 25% but considering how competitive everything is getting nowadays I would not be surprised is they had another significant decrease.
@Mastodon97 I hope ur right. Then 26% for this year I guess.
