@somehmonggirl Oh ok, I walk all over the place. So 2 miles isn’t that far for me. I also remember looking online and their is a bus that runs every 15 minutes that takes you down their. So that’s not a bad option ethier I guess.
thats just crazy!! i remember walking from belmont to vandy and vice versa and wanting to cry every time. but also belmont is very hilly. i may have walked from vandy to downtown once but regretted it and ubered back
@HopefullyIGetIn @somehmonggirl A two mile walk with some friends on a free evening doesn’t seem like a lot at all and anyways Im sure they have some university shuttles or public transportation
LOL I have to walk 1.5 miles every day to school (and back again).
@VaishS oh it’s not bad if you have time and are down to walk but like if you’re like oh i’m soooo close to broadway i can walk there and back going to the bars like nope… def not that close. lol. and yes they have vandy vans and i believe vanderbilt student IDs give free nashville bus rides
@Mastodon97 same. And sometimes I go home in betweenclasses.
@Mastodon97 maybe i’m just out of shape…?! LOL you guys are making me feel LAZY…
lol @somehmonggirl walking is good for the soul
:(… i’m going to take a jog tomorrow guys… thanks for the inspiration. actually let’s see if i decide to walk the like 600 yards from my apartment to school and go from there
@somehmonggirl Good to know. I kind of got the feeling that Emory wasn’t much more remote than Vanderbilt - both are certainly closer to the downtown of any major city than I am at my current college!
@HopefullyIGetIn Buses can be more annoying than you’d think, especially since they’ll cost money (looks like no free shuttle service not sure how Vandy Vans work, but still mildly inconvenient). Biking would probably be pretty easy, though. (I never bike downtown at my school, but that’s just because there’s not enough interesting stuff downtown for me to work out how to use the bicycle checkout system)
@usualhopeful nah, busses aren’t that bad. Especially since it would be a straight shot. Busses are only a pain when you have to connect. Like when you have to take one to a central bus hub, then get on another one. As far as cost, their prolly like a $1 a ride. Which would add up. But a once a week thing it wouldn’t be expensive.
Does Vanderbilt require you to stay on campus?
yes
@HopefullyIGetIn I’m mostly thinking of my school’s shuttle service when I say bus, tbh. They have to make like 7 stops, and they only leave every half hour on weekends only (sometimes every hour), so going to the Walmart 8 minutes away is a 2-3 hour journey.
Anyone willing to predict whether or not there will be decisions today, and what time they’ll come out?
@usualhopeful I doubt today, I have my money on 6pm Monday
@usualhopeful I think it’s probable. A while back in this thread someone said that Vandy facebook stated that they are releasing it on Monday, but I think that might have been just another generic answer given to the front office.
@Mastodon97 I hate to call you out. But you also said to me that “their would definetly be decisions” today(Thursday). And their weren’t decisions on Thursday.
Hey just jumping in here–I have a good feeling about today’s prospects too.
but, contradicting myself like I always do, I am always hopeful for today.
