Vanderbilt Transfer Thread

i didnt apply to vandy, but i would definitely call! its good to know because then you wont be nervous every time you check the mail, and you wont be freaking out when you see the letter, because if youre denied, itll suck more probably…

if youre in, youre in! :stuck_out_tongue: whether by phone or snail mail, so youll be equally happy

why would it be awkward to get it over the phone? its someone youre never going to see and youll never hear their voice again(most likely:P) so i mean, whats the big deal ?
man up and call them  imo it would be as awkward as when someone calls the wrong number, or calling it… :stuck_out_tongue:
‘hi can i talk to tim? / hi did i get in?’
‘err… wrong number… / sorry but no’
‘ehh, ok sorry! / aww… thanks anyway’
click
on the other hand you can also get this  :
'yoyo, put tim on the phone / hey! did i get in? ’
‘im speaking biiaatchh ! :stuck_out_tongue: woord / i am glad to say that you were accepted!!’
'watup f00000? :stuck_out_tongue: / yeessss!!! THANK YOOOOU ! WIHOOOOO!! :stuck_out_tongue: '

haha, whats there to lose ? your in or out

but hey, one more thing!!

GOOD LUCK!! really!! hope you all get good news and that youll be really happy :D

oh and also!
when you call them, if they arent giving u a decision on the phone, just make up some story about how you wont be able to check your mail because youll be out of town or whatever… and you need to know now, even if it was a rejection… or something like that… im sure theyll be reluctant to give a rejection on the phone, but i dont think that the fact that they dont want to means it is a rejection  its probably just a rule, but it can be bent/broken :)

Has anybody heard anything yet?

nope… you?

nope :frowning: We’re probably going to find out by the end of next week. Makes me nervous - I was hoping for Apr 15.

i just got my letter!!! I got in!

^congrats!!!

i called up and the first people you’ll get will tell you that they were all sent out on the 15th but if you get connected further they’ll tell ya that they’re still piling their way through them. like they’ve done a lot so it won’t be long for the rest of us.

For the few who’ve already received your notification letters, around what month did you guys send in your application? I sent mine in around the end of January, and still no notice of an acceptance/rejection. I’m hoping this delay in the decision letter isn’t just a way to say “you’ve been rejected.” :/
And also, for the ones who have already gotten in, what was your college gpa???
Then I can tell myself if my chances have been shot or if I still have some hope.

I sent my app in the night that it was due. And my college GPA is a 3.9.

Admitted students: is anyone sure they’re attending Vandy, this fall? If not, where are you attending?

Admitted as a sophomore transfer, but haven’t decided yet. Still waiting to hear from Georgetown, but declined my acceptance at UNC-CH in favor of Vandy. If I don’t get into Gtown, will be going to Vandy next fall

I submitted mine the night of priority deadline and have a 3.8 GPA. Just to give you guys hope, when I called Vanderbilt and they connected me to my regional rep, she wouldn’t tell me over the phone so I thought for sure I didn’t get in, but then I received my letter the next day so perhaps some of the reps are following policy and others aren’t. So if you call and they wont tell you it doesn’t mean you’re not in. If I were you I’d call your rep at least to see if they decision is made, because they will tell you if it has been mailed or not. And yes, Vanderbilt is my top choice for transferring so I will be going there for sure. Good luck everyone else–don’t lose hope because I seriously thought the lack of communication on Vandy’s part meant I wasn’t in, but that clearly is not the case.

I applied to transfer… 4.0gpa for 52 credits & tons of extracurriculars… downside 1150sat, 3.0 hs gpa

…this thread gives me anxiety. It won’t help, but if you got in, could you list your stats? Thanks.

Vanderbilt admissions announced that decision letters will be mailed out starting April 15th.

Got the acceptance letter yesterday! It was post-marked April 16th, so I bet a lot of you guys will receive yours tomorrow. The admissions staff would not tell me over the phone either, so to reiterate, not telling you doesn’t mean rejection.

Miketranchina: I applied as an English major
3.9 college gpa with 46 credits…I have a relatively low sat score too (1270) with a 3.93 unweighted hs gpa. But with your 52 credits, I doubt your sat score or hs gpa matters very much. Ec’s: XC and track @ current univ. (not continuing when I transfer) and a myriad of other things.

I’m waiting on a decision from Cornell, and then plan on comparing financial aid packages, but I’m like 83% sure I’m going to Vandy.

the trend i’ve noticed so far is high GPA’s

Congratulations to all the accepted transfers! I really hope to get my decision tmrw.

has anyone gotten in with a low-ish GPA? (>3.5)

Did you guys receive an evaluation of your credits with the acceptance letter?

oops sorry… I meant <3.5 a little embarrassed

^ let’s hope me :)
