Vanderbilt University Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

Plenty of people were accepted from community colleges and state schools last year so I’m not sure how much going to a comparable school matters.

And Sarah, I wouldn’t worry about your GPA as it’s competitive. Plus, anything over a 3.5 with a pre-med course load will put you in a competitive range for some med schools so I’m sure you’ll be fine. So what I’m saying is that if you’re competitive for med school with that GPA you’ll be a strong applicant for Vandy.

I got a 3.25 last semester (still a freshman). Hoping that since I’m coming from NYU it might help a little.

I think I may have annoyed my counselor – enough so that I did not get a reply.

just got off the phone with admissions decisions are sent out on the 18th.

@sarahjojojo - did you ask if a decision had been made for your application? And hopefully they will send out a lot of decisions on the 18th, not just a few!

i didnt ask about mine specifically she just said “if your application was completed on time it should be sent out with the first transfer decisions which will be sent out on april 18th”

Awesome! Mine should be in that group too. Guess we’ll wait another week and see!

i know me too! hopefully this time next week well all be accepted! thatd be amazing!

Oh… so if we had a missing document (SAT scores in my case) after March 1st, so we won’t be in the first batch?

i have no idea she was very brief she didnt look up my info or anything. she just basically said if your app is complete you should hear soon because the first batch is mailed out of april 18th.

Just called — received the same information about April 18th. I asked if I would be receiving an answer soon and she said “I should be fine.” Eh.

In other news — American said my application was under review and I should receive something 4-6 weeks from now. Last month they said the same thing. /sigh

At least all us W&M applicants can guarantee an e-mail by the 31st! :D

I had an issue with my ACT scores being received so my app wasn’t officially complete until a few weeks ago even though my main application and everything was finished before March 1st. It’s frustrating but hopefully I’ll still in the first batch or two.

Yeah. I mean, there’s still an entire week until the 18th, so let’s just all pray that it is! :D

ughhh this feels like torture!!! i just want to get in so badly it would be such a dream come true i feel like its such a reach though and keep going back and forth between doubting myself and getting excited. im sure were all going through the same thing though

Do you know anyone who’s heard back from Wake Forest? I’m working on getting my application complete this week.

i spoke to wake today and they said my application was complete and theyll review it this week then i should hear relatively quickly.

So, since I haven’t received a response from my counselor, I will just assume I misunderstood him.

Anyway, this wait is dreadful – luckily I will be on my passover/spring break when I hear, so I will be relatively stress-free.

Good luck to all. Less than 2 weeks left!

That is good news! I’m pretty sure I would be considered in the first batch since I had my entire app in around Jan. And I got my first acceptance from another university today too…Although I just wish it were Vandy instead! Good luck everyone!

I wish they just sent us an email… wouldn’t that be easier?

@Allisone, where’d you get accepted? And congrats.

@Wellesleygirl, I completely agree. Email would be so much better.
