Vanderbilt University Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

Here’s what my admissions counselor had to say,

We do not mail any decisions until April 18. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect that all completed transfer applicants will receive a letter within this first wave of decisions.

Yes!!! Thank you!!!

EDIT: Wait, does that mean pretty much everyone gets a decision mailed on April 18th? :P

thats how i’m interpreting it

Wow that’s great news, thanks aburch!

Hopefully it shakes out this way so that we’ll all have less than a week to wait for a decision.

I calculated that I would know by Thursday at the latest, though I’m hoping for Wednesday. Ah, just gotta get through a couple more applications, one incredibly annoying legal writing assignment, and then solace!

im at utk so hopefully ill be hearing tuesday

I’m legit getting anxious, yo.

I just called Vandy. The representative informed me that decisions will be mailed based on when you applied. Because I applied in January, he claims that I will receive my letter within the next week. Take it for what it’s worth :P

I guess I got the same guy as you. He told me I’d probably get my letter in two weeks, so around the first week of May.

But yes, he did confirm that they were going to be sent on a rolling basis.

^Probably. I’m a little worried because he expressed no emotion when he looked up my name. I hope that’s not indicative of my fate.

He seemed as if he was in a rush, and there was a lot of background noise. I suppose I’ll call back, heh.

It’s pretty weird how there’s a lot of different information being broadcast, though.

@Godric,

I looked at last years thread, and this misinformation thing was prevalent then as well. So, I’m guessing it’s a counselor to counselor basis kind of thing, and the generic date was the 18th

@2013,

Ah, I see.

I just emailed my counselor and got an automatic reply that said she was out of office until Wednesday, April 13th. I don’t really know how to interpret that haha!

Mine’s out until the 18th.

But today is the 15h haha! So I hope she is back in her office and that was just an error.

I called back twice just for kicks. Both counselors said that transfer applicants are rolling, and that if your application was complete within the past couple weeks, then you should be in the first batch.

Meh, I guess I have something to look forward to next week other than a Cornell rejection :P

You guys are killing me with all of this wishy-washy info!! :/

Yeah, I apologize. Let me just put together a fact post and I’ll stop mentioning this:

**1.) We know that admissions letters will begin going out on April 18th. Someone had previously mentioned that they may have been sent out already, but the general consensus is that they will be sent out on the 18th (next Monday).

2.) We know that the admissions letters are on a rolling basis. The earlier your application was complete, the greater chance you have to be in the first batch. As previous posters have said, if you had your application complete in January/February, then chances are you’re in the first batch.

3.) Decisions will go out on Monday the 18th, and then every Friday until all applications are decided on.**

What has yet to be agreed on, and probably won’t ever be agreed on until Thursday of next week when the first batch of decisions are RECEIVED is the following:

4.) If you turned in your application on March 1st, but just recently had you entire application complete, then will you be in the first batch?

ANSWER 1: Some counselors say “Yes,” and that your decision may be in the first wave of batches, mailed out either on April 18th or April 22nd/25th.

ANSWER 2: Some counselors say “No”, and that you will most likely have a decision by the first week of May.

I hope this stabilizes the confusion.
