Vanderbilt University Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

How long do you guys think the letter will take to get from Nashville to Connecticut?

So, I emailed my counselor, and he said I could call for my decision. I’m a bit nervous about calling.

Oh my gosh! Well, would he want to reject you over the phone instead of making you wait for the rejection letter? He can’t be that cruel, right? It’s either an acceptance or an opportunity at another school within Vanderbilt, right?

What did you say in the email?

I think I’m gonna wait it out. Don’t like getting rejected via phone… and I’m afraid. Haha. I told him I will call Friday if I don’t get the letter by then.

Good choice 2013, I’d feel sick to my stomach if I had to call for a decision!

Who is your counselor? Anybody get their letter today?

I emailed my counselor (Ken Shows) about whether or not my letter was in the batch sent out on the 18th. No response yet.

I’m really tempted to call and see. I just want my decision!

Should it take 2 days for most people to get their letter? Or should we expect to get them tomorrow?

do it and let us know if you find out!

@Chicagobears1

Sorry I meant to say Syriac from Syria!! LOL My grandpa said they’re related communities but IDK that was a long time ago haha.

Hmm. Just thinking that Monday was tax day, so a whole lot of mail would have gone through the p.o. on Monday. Might the heavy volume delay letters by a day?

Are we allowed to transfer schools within Vanderbilt once accepted? I applied for Engineering but pretty sure I’d rather be in the Arts and Sciences school…

I also just emailed my counselor and she responded within minutes this is exactly what she wrote me:
I checked into your status and your application is still being reviewed by the transfer admissions committee. They will meet later this week and hopefully your review will be completed then. If that happens, your decision should mail by next week. It will then take at least a few days, after we mail, for the decisions to reach students. I would say that your decision will mail, at the earliest, by the middle of next week. If you would like to check back with me in the middle of next week, I will be able to tell you if it was fully reviewed and if a decision was mailed. Then it will take a few days for the decision letter to reach you through the mail

Now I have to wait til next week! Which is strange because I applied in january and my counselor previously told me that I would hear a few days after April 18th… Guess I’m not in the first batch after all…

here in knoxville no letter in the mail…called admissions and said id here in the next 2-3 weeks.

@jhlee417

I read that walking up to The Hill haha; we both go to UT and have girlfriends at Vandy! what a coincidence

I just called the admissions office and they said they couldn’t tell anything besides that my application was complete…

Why are they keeping me in the dark??

All of this conflicting information we are getting makes Vandy appear to be very unorganized…

Definitely. Also, is anyone else’s admissions counselor slow at replying to emails?

I hope at least one of us hears today so we can feel like its actually happening.

@aburch1 - I’m surprised you haven’t heard anything yet! Were some parts of your application late?
