@wellesley,
I have Ken Shows too.

@2013, I think he does the whole northeast, right? How quick was he to respond to your email telling you to call him?

they needed a transcript from one dual credit course i took junior year in high school, and that was few days after the march 1st deadline

I emailed him yesterday.

I’m kind of envious of some of you. My counselor doesn’t really give me any information other than the general “we can’t tell you anything” kind of e-mails. I almost want to email a different counselor…

@aburch1 - I sent in most of my stuff before March 1st, except the college report which came in a week or two later. I hope that still means I’m in the first batch…? Probably not though.

@2013 - And he just got back to you today? Okay, I’ll stop checking my email like a crazy person :)

My counselor hardly ever answers my emails, and it is usually after a long period of time. It seemed like people in the older threads who applied in the earlier years got their letters by this time. I wonder why it is different this year.

@aburch
that’s hilarious. Are you originally from TN? I’m from Memphis.

My counselor won’t be in the office until next Monday so I’m very much in the dark right now. I’m assuming that if a letter doesn’t come in the next day it means that my application has not been reviewed so a letter would probably not arrive for at least 10-15 days. Ugh. I wasn’t expecting to find out in the first week of April, but I certainly thought the process would be faster than this.

Apparently my letter will be sent in the next batch which my counselor said will be sent out around May 1.
Damn… I don’t want to wait another two weeks!

@ jhlee417

Originally from Florida, but have lived in Knoxville for last nine or so years

No letter in KY. I still can’t believe not a single person on this thread has found out. Maybe tomorrow will be the day? Let’s hope!

Just emailed my counselor, and he said they just mailed out the first round yesterday. Maybe this is why no one has heard anything

Everytime we get in touch with a counselor it’s a different story lol.

Here’s how I’m working it out:

1.) Based on previous calls with counselors, some letters went out Monday (Batch 1), some went out Tuesday (Batch 2).

2.) Assuming that both batches were sent out at 5:00 PM each day (latest they could be sent out), it would take a full 3-5 business days (worst case scenario) to reach their destinations (excluding locations in TN which could be anywhere between 1-3 business days).

3.) Based on the above, B1 should be arriving by Saturday at the latest, and B2 should be arriving by next Monday at the latest (though B2 could still come to most locations by Saturday.

4.) Given new information from previous posters that said that that B1+B2 both went out yesterday, I imagine people will hear by next Monday (factoring in a potential tax day delay).

NOTE: This is all worst-case scenario, though I think it may explain why no one heard today.

According to my counselor who I heard from today another batch of letters are also being mailed out the middle of next week and that decisions are being made for that batch by the end of this week.(That is when she said mine will be mailed out) ugh this is so frustrating! I was expecting a letter this week!

Got my letter today (in Murfreesboro which is like 30 minutes from campus)! Accepted to Arts and Sciences!

@kmhow1

Congratulations!!! If you could please provide us with the following information, we would all be very grateful:

1.) When did you submit your application?
2.) When did your application become complete?
3.) What are your stats? (if you don’t mind me asking)
4.) Was there a financial aid/merit award in your acceptance?

Thanks. And congratulations, again!

Ahhh CONGRATS kmhow1! So happy for you. Hopefully this means a lot more will get their letters tomorrow!

CONGRATS! That’s amazing! If only all of us on CC were that lucky… Oh well! About to email my counselor right now!

1.) I think I submitted it the first week of January
2.) I completed the application in February
3.) 3.91 GPA with 14 credits and asked into all the honors societies at UT. 4.1 GPA in high school with Cum Laude and all those kinds of honors. 29 on my ACT. REJECTED the first time, because my high school was mostly all-white, catholic, and located literally two streets from campus soooo not very diverse. Dance Team for 4 years in high school and went to Nationals in Disney World. Sorority here aka tons of involvement and community service.
4.) Not that I know of. My brother is the one that got to open it and read me the news! He even sent me a picture of my acceptance letter!

I feel like my stats will give hope to everyone else! I applied with only one semester of credits, a standard major, and I didn’t really bust my butt trying to make my application everything they wanted to see.
