think anyone will be getting letters today?

“muddy middle” - lol. I guess if you haven’t gotten an acceptance or a rejection letter by this point, maybe you’re in that group?

I wonder if they send the rejection letters out right away. If they know they’re going to reject your admission, seems like they could just send those letters out in one quick batch - early. Instead of just dragging it out.

has anyone gotten a small envelope yet?

just got my skinny envelope. waitlisted.

waitlisted is much better than rejection though! At least that’s what I keep telling myself, although I haven’t gotten my letter yet.
Is vandy your first choice?

yes, vandy is #1 for me. i’ve already paid my deposit for university of michigan and i will have orientation in a few weeks. but if vandy calls me the day before school begins and offers me admission, i’ll be there! haha

how about you?

Good luck to you, jlgrif. Do you mind posting stats?

where is everyones decisions being mailed to? their home address or school address?

sure. 3rd year CC student (changed my career goal, and kind of started over)

Credits: 74 **I’ll have 86 at the end of this semester, or next week
GPA: 3.9
Work experience: I have worked as a server/bartender approximately 30 hours a week for the entire duration of my college experience.
Extra Curriculars: None. I was hired by my college to be the first-ever student to work in the math lab. I proctored exams and taught students math up to Calc 3. I was also a supplemental instructor–I attended lower level math classes and hosted study sessions for students several times a week. But both of these positions were paid.

When I saw everyone else’s extra-curriculars, I was like oh, crap. I live on my own, so I have to work to support myself. I wish I could be more involved. That might have something to do with being waitlisted.

My high school stuff is kind of bad. I graduated with a 3.7, no AP classes, and just a few varsity sports for extra-curriculars. I got a 26 on my ACT. I wasn’t really thinking about my future back then, but hopefully my academic performance in college speaks for itself.

By the way, as far as regions–I’m in Michigan, and my major is EE. I’ve paid my deposit to U-M if Vandy falls through…although Vandy is my #1 choice. I’m not banking on it, of course. You all are some tough competition!

Hey i was waitlisted too… they said there’s a pretty good chance though that most students will still be accepted off of it. No worries!

Still no letter in Long Island…I’m getting more and more anxious everyday, especially if the acceptances are regional…

Waitlisted… Stats: Over a 4.0 in highschool, plenty of AP credit, lots of extracurriculars, 34 on ACT, 4.0 in college, plenty of e.c. there as well and work experience. Don’t know what happened, I was pretty sure I would get in.

Hey for those who didnt get in yet I hope this makes you feel better, i got my admissions decision last week (Im from nashville but im in school in Boston so as far as the regions idea Im not sure if i fall under nashville or boston), but anyway i got my decision last week and i got accepted which was a total surprise because I read on here everyone has liek perfect GPA and all these extra curriculars and stuff, ummm I have a lousy 3.2. With about 60 credits of college level work. To be fair though, ive had really difficult classes like organic chemistry 1-2, neurobiology, etc ( im a neuroscience major), so i think that helped alot. As far as extra curriculars i have like zero i row crew, go to class, and have a job and aside from that I have like absolutely not free time crew and school take up like 100% of my time haha.

so anyway if youre grades werent perfect like mine have hope!

@rhpa Your admissions results are insane. If I ran Vanderbilt undergraduate admissions, you would have been at the top of the accepted list.

I was able to speak to my counselor today and she said that my decision is in the mail so I should know by Wednesday or Thursday. It’ll be nice to know what’s going on either way although it’s a little unsettling to see people with high academic profiles still getting waitlisted. It’s hard to get a good read on things so far.

And thanks for your info, manic. I know how you feel when it comes to your course load, because as a biology major I’ll put that course load of o chem, calc, physics, and bio up with anything lol. I hope my combination of course selection and GPA plays up in my favor, and your input gives me some reassurance.

how do you go about speaking with your admissions counselor? email or phone?

I’ve only used email to contact my counselor. Mine has been pretty quick to respond if I email her in the morning.

I talked with my counselor, and he kind of dodged my question about “double deposits”. He said he will ask his supervisor if I can get an extension (however a month long extension is probably not going to happen).

Accepted as a sophomore transfer!

From Top 20 US College
GPA: 3.9 (College)/4.8 W (High School)
34 ACT 11 Essay

Good luck to everyone!

I’m hearing a lot of acceptances and waitlists on this thread - where are the rejections? Have they sent many of them out yet, or are people just not posting if they get rejected? (I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t.) Makes me nervous tho - are they saving the rejections for the last wave? Uh oh.
