Update: On their school newspaper’s article written for the 2025 admissions cycle, they do cite that statistic of 10% of their incoming class coming from the waitlist. Maybe this means that COVID didn’t really change that? Idk how reliable that is though, the only way to actually know might be to ask an AO.
On their website they state that 7-12% of their freshman class comes from the waitlist every year. I had the numbers for the last 6 years, but I don’t know if I wrote them down, and I can’t remember where I found them. The 453 is accurate for 2020. For the other years it has been around 180-200. I think one year may have been about 250 and one year may have been about 150.
Have u guys got an email from vandy askig if you still want to remain on waitlist?
Ok here it is:
2013 - 223
2014 - 210 (6018 offered a spot, 4536 accepted a spot - only year that data is available)
2015 - 188
2016 - 71
2017 - 178
2018 - 243
2019 - 453
2020 - 479
2021 - 181
I wanted to give 10 years of data, but there was no data for 2012 or 2011.
BRO 6018 offered a spot?>???>>?>?
In that year, yes. But I imagine many probably dropped off the waitlist before May 1st after they decided on a school.
When I figured out that jhu waitlist more than 3000, i thought that that’s a lot. but now :()
That was in 2014. They might not waitlist that many anymore. Yale was 1000. But somebody else (cant remember who) waitlisted over 9000 this year, which is beyond insane.
yall could anyone let me know when u guys get the email asking if you still wanna remain on the waitlist.
Yep
got the email.
same i just got it
Same. Does everyone receive this who is on the waitlist?
It seems like it.
Looks like it.
how long is it between emails and acceptance waves?
May 2 and 3 rd will be the first wave.
how do you know?
The first wave last year was May 3 (Monday I think) so it may be similar this year
Do u know how many got off from the first wave?
