Vanderbilt Waitlist 2026

From the previous discussion: if you don’t get off from the waited list in the first wave, your chance will be very very slim for this year.

That’s what I figured out but i wonder how many got off from the first wave

10%-12% of 1600 =160 -200 around from the list. actually , that is a big number!

I mean from the first wave…

Here is the logic: in the morning of May 2, the office will clearly know how many offers were rejected and they will fill all of those spots from the confirmed waiting list without further review. three days later, the offers to the waitlisted applicants will be accepted (99%)or declined (1-2%). then , the second wave will come. I will say the offer number for the second wave will be less than 10 .

hi! is it too late to send my loci?

The number of people who accept a waitlist position from Vandy might be daunting but keep in mind that if you’re on this forum in the first place, you have probably done a decent job of showing your interest and belonging at the school.

you are right!

I think so

No, it isnt. I think it’s too late to accept your spot on the waitlist, but I don’t think there was a deadline for the LOCI except maybe the end of the month.

he could be right

So, I went back and looked at the waitlist letter and it say this:

You must respond to this offer by May 1, 2022.

It also says it is possible they could go to the waitlist in late April but probably not until early May.

the tuition went up to 57000 , the total cost will be around $80000 per year. anyone will make decision based on the financial aid?

What was the tuition before? Maybe the change will be significant enough to decrease RD yield

5% up from 2021

That’s insane. Why do they keep increasing it.

Do waitlisted students usually pay the full price? I did not apply for financial aid but that is seriously a lot of money.

I am thinking to give up Emory with $20000 per year merit for possible Vandy with no aid at all.
Not sure if it will be a good decision.

That’s insane I think you should stick with emory

In case anybody missed it, here are my notes from the virtual waitlist ama session earlier today!

  • Need-based aid can still be awarded; the list is need-aware at least for non-US citizens
  • The Waitlist is not ranked
  • Housing and course registration will most likely NOT be affected if you are admitted off of the waitlist
  • Anybody on the waitlist will receive a notification when the class is completely closed
  • They recommend sending LOCI/ updates directly through your portal and not to your admissions officer so it will not be lost or overlooked
  • they mostly take students from the waitlist throughout May and June, maybe later
  • The strongly consider is if you still want to go to Vanderbilt, so demonstrated interest is very important
  • The best/ easiest way to show demonstrated interest is through filling out the forms they send via email
*Decisions could “possibly” be sent out starting after May 1
  • They model their admissions process to take 5-10% off of the waitlist
  • They admit by school specifically, and they only admit by major/program for the Blair and Peabody schools.

Good luck, everybody!
