Vanderbilt Waitlist 2027

but how is it the end of may and there has only been one wave :sob: iā€™m so confused itā€™s so different from past years

Thatā€™s what Iā€™ve been sayin! I donā€™t understand why itā€™s taking so long to hear back. Only one person from cc has gotten off so far.

If you go back and read this thread there were several who were accepted in the first wave from CC. Also several on Reddit. Definitely was a wave around May 10th.

Yeah, there were several who got off in the first wave as posted higher in this thread, plus on reddit. Usually there is more than one wave as they hear back from people from the first wave but itā€™s possible most people in the first wave accepted their spots so not much more movement. I was thinking there might be a 2nd wave since they sent us the email to re-confirm our interest, but it doesnā€™t appear so. There may have been a trickle of offers rather than a 2nd wave and people just arenā€™t on CC or reddit. The chance of getting off the waitlist at this point seems very slim.

I think Iā€™m gonna send in a second LOCI if I donā€™t hear back today.

there was another wave on may 10? i remember there was one on may 4 but i donā€™t remember any posts on may 10 (at least not on here)

I only saw the May 4th wave of acceptances.

Thereā€™s been a few A&S acceptances but almost no engineering acceptances. Iā€™m guessing they accept later.

Seems strange they would wait this long though. It might be more likely that they just had much higher yield than anticipated and didnā€™t take very many people (or maybe none at all).

I just scrolled back and looked at the slide bar which said May 10th - maybe it was May 4th though. It was whenever a few people on here posted acceptances. Sorry for any confusion!

Anyone hear from them yet?

Iā€™m surprised there hasnā€™t been a second wave of acceptances yet. What could they possibly be waiting on?

I feel like there is not going to be a second wave. There was a first wave and that I am assuming yielded very high. Possibly since have filled only a few niche spots that no one on CC or Reddit posted (knew) about. The AOā€™s canā€™t be that big of jerks to just be sitting on open spots. They know everyone is finding roommates, dorms, picking classes, taking placement tests, etc. Also I am sure they want the class finalized sooner rather than later too. Afraid the no news is not good news in this case.

I understand that, but I feel like there is still hope for more waves to come. First of all, one wave of acceptances filling all the waitlist spots is unprecedented at Vandy, considering that acceptances have rolled in for students in past years as late as July or early August. However, itā€™s possible that there was a higher yield rate in RD than normal, although I still believe thereā€™d be more than one wave of waitlist acceptances.
Also, it should be considered that Vanderbilt AOā€™s are in the middle of evaluating transfer applicants, which could be taking up a lot of their time. Maybe Iā€™m being too optimistic though. If we donā€™t get another one next week, then Iā€™d accept that no more waves are coming.

They would be dealing with transfer applicants every year at this time right? It seems like in the past there have been 2 waves in May and since the first one happened so early it seems like the second would have happened already. I do hope you are right and more are coming though!

Yeah, I have to agree with you. I think not hearing anything and the fact that many other schools have already closed their waitlists is a very bad sign for additional movement from Vandy. They sent out a continued interest email on 4/24 and then the first wave was 10 days later on May 4th. Iā€™m assuming they still had some spots to fill as they sent out a 2nd continued interest email on 5/12, but I would think any spots that were available have probably been filled by now as itā€™s already 13 days later. Definitely if we donā€™t hear anything today or tomorrow I think itā€™s pretty much over. They wouldnā€™t wait that long to send out a 2nd wave because they want the class filled as soon as possible. It gets harder for them to fill spots as time goes on. I suspect we havenā€™t seen posts because there were very few spots and people just didnā€™t post or arenā€™t on CC or reddit. There is a very very small chance a spot or two could open over the next couple months if someone drops out, but this is kinda looking like a done deal to me.

Well they usually send out emails either Mondays or fridays from past emails

The process has indeed been super slow.

where are you guys committed to right now? iā€™m going to boston college next year but would love if vanderbilt pulled through :crossed_fingers:

My kid is committed to UVA (off the waitlist). UofM before that. I think they call it the summer meltā€¦
