which plan is better at UMD? i heard cingular's more expensive but is it much better than verizon regarding service? i want good service in dorms so i can still call around when i'm sitting around in my room.

thanks!

also, are the dorms wireless? or do most people use ethernet connections?

verizon gets good service pretty much everywhere; at least i've never had a problem with it. i don't get service in the union but i don't think anyone does. also verizon gets service in the metro.

most people use the ethernet connection (i mean, you may as well since it's there)...i'm not sure if the dorms are wireless; i know they're slowly changing over so that everything will have wireless access but i don't know how far they've gotten.

here is a map of the wireless conection areas at UMD

its hard to see but blue is like full coverage, green is mostly, and that peach color is limited

I have cingular with the Razr phone, and it literally gets service everywhere. Peoples basements, the subway, etc.

Verizon is def. the best in the MD area. Tops Cingular every time based on me hanging out with friends who talk 24/7

lol damn..i wanted to get cingular based on its plan and stuff..would that be bad? or can i stick to cingular and still get good service in most areas?

i got verizon and I don't have a choice because of those cancelation penalties.
