So i posted this on another thread but am still very confused. Apparently those whos ent in the VIP application already received admission decisions. I dont understand how this is possible...i though the college needed to first see your senior grades for the first quarter?? Please enlighten me!

I don't have any knowledge about Tulane's VIP application process. But I understand the logic of basing admission on 9th thru 11th grades alone. Tulane is no place for a student who thinks slacking off is OK, and what better excuse for slacking off is there than the knowledge that you're already accepted at college?

In short, if you find yourself slacking off senior year, turn Tulane down. If you don't slack off after acceptance, you're well on your way to success in Tulane's "no hand holding" environment. I'd say you're a winner either way!

Nearly ALL early applications (whether EA or ED) for all colleges are solely based off of Frosh-Junior grades. In most cases, the early decision is made (~Dec 15) before senior grades are even available. Our HS, for example, doesn't start until after Labor Day, so semester grades aren't posted until late Jan.

In Tulane's case, the personal app is rolling admissions based on Jr year grades.

btw: If you need your senior grades to boost your overall gpa, don't apply early.
