Is it possible to become a Veterinary Technician before I can become a Veterinarian. If so, how would I be able to do that?

Usually becoming a vet tech is a direction that’s taken instead of going to college for four years to prepare for a veterinary medicine program that takes another four years. Vet techs usually have an associates degree that takes 2 years. There’s not a great example from human medicine but it’s more like becoming a nurse instead of a doctor. Google bel-rea veterinary technician program. It’s in Colorado and they offer an associates degree. Their web-site has lots of information, including available job postings that will give you an idea of what vet techs do. Then go to one of the web sites of a vet school - Colorado State University, Cornell, UC Davis - and look at what’s involved in becoming a veterinarian.

Thanks so much.
