I’m not surprised that I was waitlisted, but I’m not thrilled either. GPA would have been higher but I had a personal tragedy Sophomore year. Would have applying for an undeclared major improved my chances of getting in?

@sjf385 it depends on how spots that they have left after May 1. Chances are very, very small to get off of the waitlist. According to Villanova’s common data set from last year, 6,321 applicants were offered a spot on the waitlist. Of those 6,321, just 2,856 accepted a spot on the waitlist. And finally, of those 2,856 applicants who accepted a spot on the waitlist, only 47 were offered admission.
Granted, last year Nova won the national championship in basketball and probably had something to do with so many people choosing Nova of the accepted applicants, so the number of people admitted from the waitlist this year will likely be larger, given that they probably won’t make the final four this year.
Please, because Nova is my first choice by a mile, if you were waitlisted and do not want to go to Nova or have other options that you like better, decline a spot on the waitlist so those of us who REALLY want to go to Nova can have a shot. If you accept a spot on the waitlist but then get in somewhere that you would rather go to, please take your name off of the waitlist so again there are more spots for others who want to go to Nova.
