Virginia Tech Transfer 2013

@ClemTransfer You see the bird at the top of your screen on the left when you click on the admission term (that they give you I think). Next to my bird it says “your Transfer Credit Evaluation may be complete”

Isn’t tomorrow another day of announcements? Good luck everyone, and I wish you all the best!

Congrats @LSienkiewicz! Can I ask what department you applied to and your stats? Thanks!

I applied to Mech Engineering. HS GPA was 3.5 (I was waitlisted and then denied out of HS). Went to Mason freshman year and had a 2.5, then went to NVCC and currently have a little under a 3.8.

@LSienkiewicz Do you mean you sent your grade in on March 10th? Also, what subject area did you apply for, if you dont mind me asking? I’m getting really nervous because I sent my grades on the 15th and I haven’t seen the bird yet.

Yeah, they asked me to submit my midterm grades and I did that on march 10th. What do you mean what subject area? I applied for Mechanical Engineering.

@LSienkiewicz Congrats!

@VTHopeful23 Thanks! Best of luck!

Thanks…Guess I do not have one yet…Hopefully soon!!

JUST GOT MY BIRD!!!

Good luck everyone!! :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :)

@mollymcb Congrats!!! The wait is over…

@mollymcb Congrats!

@vthopeful23 @clemtransfer thank you both!!

Does anyone know when the next wave of acceptances should come out for SUMMER transfers? I called them and they said any time between now and May 1st, but I figure summer applicants should know earlier than May 1st because Summer 1 (The one I applied for) starts May 28th and that wouldn’t give anyone much time at all to get themselves set up with enrollment, housing, etc.

I asked them twice, and I got no answer. I’m a summer session II transfer, and if I get in, there’ll be a crunch to get things in for sure. It must be possible though, if they’re letting some of us know as late as May 1st…

@mollymcb I don’t think they let summer transfers know any sooner. A lot of engineering transfers I believe are taking summer sessions, but I am pretty sure they’re just letting people know depending on their admissions counselor (or even at random). Since you’ve gotten the bird though, you’ll probably hear during the next wave, which is supposed to be within this next week.

@VThopeful23 I’m very concerned now. I am a Radford freshman, 2nd semester. I applied in mid January with a 3.65 to Pamplin. My classes are as follows:

Calc B
Econ B
History A
English A
Art A
Univ 100 A

I was unable to register for a lab science either semester. As a result, I thought it would be best to take the classes that would best position me for a transfer. This semester I am taking:

Stat
History (2nd half)
Econ (2nd half)
English (2nd half)
Sociology

I commented on my application that I was unable to register for a laboratory science and I sent a letter to my admissions’ counselor that I would take these classes this summer at community college if required for admission. I’m concerned that you did not get in last year and had a 4.0 VThopeful23 just because you were lacking the science. Did you talk to anyone about it?

I can tell you what happened to me- I think because you’re a freshman you get a free pass. I applied last year for fall '12. I was missing one lab and one math class and I would have been a first semester Junior. I was not admitted because of that. Now I’ve solved that issue, but you did good letting them know that you’d take your missing class over the semester.

I also applied to pamplin with a 3.7 first semester, i took calc last semester and im in chemistry and english this semester, are they going to count that against me that im taking them this semester and not last?

I don’t think so- they’re fine with me taking my last math and science class right now. if you’re a freshman and haven’t been in college that long, you kind of have an excuse as you didn’t really have time to get all your gen-eds done. They kind of held it against me that I was a junior and didn’t have them done, but I transferred from an art school that didn’t even offer science labs. Soooo… yeah. Best of luck to you!
