Also, does anyone know if its possible to get a hokie bird but still get declined? I’m very excited but I’m scared of getting my hopes up.

@mollymcb

I have never heard of anyone getting the hokie bird and then getting denied. Your wait is almost over, so just hang in there!

@mollymcb You will be fine. I got the Hokie Bird and within the next week I got accepted.

HOKIE BIRDDDDDDDDD!!! finarryyy!!!

@greenshark congrats!

and thank you @mcresse19 @TechForever its hard holding back the excitement, cant wait for it to be official!!!

3-4 Days after my hokie bird showed up, I had been accepted. so to everyone, good luck and the wait is almost over!

@greenshark Congrats!

Would I be able to transfer to tech the 2nd semester of my freshman year and live in a dorm in and all? I’m a senior and it looks like I will be going to JMU but I really don’t like the school as much as I should.

Am I the only one who has been officially granted admission (for a while now) but hasn’t received hard evidence? As in paper mail…

hokiehopeful13 I think you’re at an advantage because you stated your reasons for not taking a science course and also you stated your intentions of taking it in the future. Unfortunately, I went to Radford last year also and the same thing happened to me but I didn’t tell them my reason for not taking it. Good luck!

Its harder to get housing when you are a transfer because you do not have priority but it is possible

Congrats Greenshark! I remember you from last year. Glad the wait paid off finally!

Hokie bird!!! Oh my gosh!!!

Congrats @JennyK13!!!

@JennyK13
Congratulations.

I am a second semester freshman at Old Dominion University. I got a 3.68 GPA last semester.
Biology- A
Sociology- A
Algebra- A
English comp- B+
US History- B
I am currently taking chemistry, biology, pre-calculus, and english comp. I have all A’s and a B. I also graduated high school with a 3.9 GPA. I was asked for my midterm grades. When I sent them I just got a reply saying thank you. I haven’t had any updates on my status since then. Should I be worried?

Didn’t say your major.

Oh sorry! I am a biology major. On my application I checked Animal and Poultry Sciences as my major.

Looks good to me.
They probably wanted to see more advanced math and/or science courses.
Taking Calc now?

Thanks! I am so nervous. I hope I find out soon because it seems like everyone else is finding out already. I am in pre-calc… But I plan on finishing that up this summer so that I can take calculus my sophomore year.

I’ll advice you to find a way to let them know that you intent to take calc. And also try to stuff up with summer classes so they see that you’re hardworking. I took 17 credits last semester plus 8 credits by exam; I’m taking 23 generic credits now, and 9 this summer putting me in 58 in one year. An adcom told me that’s what they like to see. I always make sure I flaunt these when I apply, and so far applying has been easy. They are really keen on that type of stuff.

Other than that, I think you have a good chance because your major-related courses seem neat.
