Virginia Tech Transfer 2013

@VThopeful23 YAY! That is amazing, congrats :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :)

Should I be worried that my transfer credit evaulation still isn’t done…? I dont mean in terms of acceptance because the office that deals with your credits is completely separate. But I did the transfer credit generator online and it seemed like a decent amount of mine will transfer over. Ugh.

Can’t stress how much the waiting game sucks honestly haha.

@mollymcb Don’t worry about the transfer credit evaluation. It takes them a while (I think they even say it could be up to 30 days or something). Mine seemed like it took forever, and it finally just finished, showing my fall semester credits (I’m a second semester freshman). Plus, the current semester’s work will not even be included yet because the classes aren’t completed. That is nothing to stress over. You can use the transfer data base to see which ones would transfer and as long as you received a C or better, the credits will indeed transfer over.

Okay so I went back and went through last years transfers forum and saw that the people got birds until about April 1st for this wave. Those people received their official offer of admissions after about the first week in april. After that the next wave of birds came in around the end of the second week of april. Those people got their official offer at the end of the 3rd week of april. After that only 1 person received the bird(Lucky!) while everyone else was rejected.

So if your still waiting this should give you something to look forward to if they stay some what consistent with last year

Good Luck Everyone!!!

@futurehokiebrah ohh ok thanks. i don’t have any of that haha.

@collegebra: yeah I submitted mine 1/29, my sister who goes there says we’re probably hearing later because we submitted ours later.

Oh and Congrats to @GreenShark & @JennyK13 on getting your birds, you guys went through Hell last year.

@Mollymcb Last Year it took from about 4/5 days to 2 weeks for the official offer to be extended online and it seems like you got your Hokie Bird early in the wave (Congrats btw) so it shouldn’t be too much time. As long as you keep your grades YOU’RE IN(Just let that sink in for a second)!!!

lots of good info in this thread. we’re getting real close but im hoping tomorrow is my lucky day in terms of getting official acceptance. good luck to everybody

@mollymcb you honestly have nothing to worry about. In fact, you most likely have been accepted already and just haven’t had that updated on the app status page. That’s what happened to me. I called and admissions looked at my file and told me I was accepted but it’ll take a few days to actually show up!

@VTHopeful23 What did you say to admissions? Everytime I seem to call they give me an awful attitude and seem so uninterested in answering any questions

My intention for calling was only to find out why my transcript from last year hasn’t showred up yet and that it also hasn’t showed up in my credit evaluation. So I told her that I spoke to someone a few weeks ago and they told me to call around this time to check back. She looked at my file asking if I had visited the app status page and said no need to worry about it being updated to receive bc they have everything and I was accepted. I know what you mean I was crossing my fingers hoping they wouldn’t give me a bland response to my request. But I got lucky and found out!! I suggest calling with the same “issue”. But honestly I think anyone who received the bird in the past couple weeks have already been accepted, it just hasn’t shown up yet. Mine still hasn’t yet she told me I was accepted.

Hey all! I have a quick question, last Friday I got the Hokie Bird and then yesterday it updated on the bottom of the page to saying “Transfer needing Spring grades”… Does anyone know exactly what this means? I’m just concerned that its a maybe with no official word until after final transcripts are sent… if anyone has any idea it would be appreciated and good luck to all those still waiting for their birds!!

@VTHopeful23 Thanks!! Will definitely try that tomorrow.

YES!
I got the hokie bird :D

congrats @lotbirds !!!

way to go @lotbirds…Congrats!!!

Hokie bird!

Congrats everyone getting their hokie birds!

Tech here we come! go hokies!

Congratulations to everyone.

I sent an email to the lady who asked me for my mid-term grades the other day about taking classes in the summer. This is what she said:

“Thank you. Please note that in the review of your application for
admission, we can only consider the courses that will be completed by the
end of the spring semester. If you are not offered admission (and I do not
have your file in front of me so I am just giving this as an “as if”
case), please contact our office to learn the reason why. If taking the
courses in the summer help, you will be told it will and you may appeal
the decision with your grade. However, the appeal can only be approved IF
space is still available. All decisions will be out by May 1.”

I still haven’t had an update on my application status. Should I be concerned?

On my app status page, I have a Hokie bird with “Your Transfer Credit Evaluation may be complete.” written beside it. Is that the famous Hokie Bird that means acceptance??

@Scoobielover You shouldn’t be worried they still have plenty of birds to send out I mean there is still over a month left. The only thing you can really control at this point is Staying positive and focusing on your grades in your current classes and the rest is out of your hands.

Good Luck
