Eeeeee i wanna get the bird!!

meeeee too

Anybody received a bird today…Seems to have slowed down…Friday is usually a good day

Want the bird too. Good luck all who are waiting.

just checked. no bird! hopefully this next week!

yeah nothing on my end either…

No bird for me yet either!

I received an email to send in midterm grades last week, I submitted those on Wednesday (4/3) and then I got a bird the following day on Thursday (4/4). I applied to Pamplin right at the Feb 15 deadline.

Anyone relatively know when we will know when we get the official notification once you have the bird?

@wercj94-Same thing happened to me. I sent in my midterms on a Friday (3/22), got the hokie bird on my application a few days later (3/25), and officially accepted a week later (4/2). So you should receive an official notification within a week, most likely Friday or earlier.

Hello all~
I’ve been reading through most of the pages and I am beginning to become extremely anxious. I’m applying as a junior from JMU and after this semester, I’ll have 50 credits, but I’m having my AP scores sent, which will put me at 56 credits. I’m a Justice Studies major, but I’ll be put into the Liberal Arts college if accepted. I’m really concerned because I have a good GPA (3.688) and I have finished many of the Gen Ed requirements for VT, but not the math one since it isn’t required for my major. I’ve taken college algebra, but not an upper level math class since I haven’t needed it. I’ve been seeing that many people do not get accepted because of this.
Additionally, I have not gotten the little Hokie bird, to my knowledge. Granted, I didn’t start checking the application status page until about 2 weeks ago, but once you get the bird, is there a possibility that it can go away??
I am just really freaked out and worried that I won’t get in now, because of this stupid math credit. I’m planning to take a math Gen Ed over the summer regardless of where I end up next fall, but I didn’t put that on my application. Should I do anything/worry?? :/

No bird for me either I am visiting some friends at tech right now and it is so much fun! The campus is beautiful and all of the students are nice. I’ve visited plenty of times. The food just keeps getting better! I really hope I get in! Good luck everyone and go hokies!!

no bird for me either! maybe next Friday some of us will start seeing birds :)

I think birds will start this coming week and continue to appear throughout the middle of the month, so don’t worry. I don’t think any birds went out this week.

@toddhl Hokie birds do not go away. There should be another wave this Friday. I’m an Art major and last year I wasn’t accepted because I hadn’t done all my geneds. If you haven’t at least done something like Bio 1 and 2 and College Math 1 and 2, then I’m sorry to say that you probably have a reason to worry.

I’m hoping you get good news though!

@JennyK13 Would it make any difference if I was planning on taking classes at community college this summer? I didn’t explicitly state on my application that I was planning on it, but I had intended to knock out the math course this summer prior to enrolling (if accepted, which I doubt I will be, at this point, UGH). Should I notify them of this? Like, is there an email I can send or something, or would that make no difference at all??
I’m frustrated because Tech is, in all honesty, my backup because I really want to go to UVa, but I just had extreme doubts I would get accepted there. But I don’t want to be stuck at JMU for another year and I don’t want to go to community college. I’m at a loss. :(

@toddhl- I was in the exact same position last year- I was willing to take my last Bio and Math over the summer, but they said that I needed to either be enrolled in them at the time I applied or to have them completed prior to enrolling again. So because of that I’m starting out at VT a few credits shy of my senior year. But better late than never.
Email them and explain your situation, or even better, call. A CC might be your best bet- it’s cheaper than JMU and if you hate it you should get out. I was at a terrible school, and just left to wrap up my loose ends at a CC before applying to VT for a third time.

has anyone called admissions recently? i wanna find out now!

Can anyone tell me what the policy for having your admission rescinded, as stated in the acceptance packet, is?

If you get below a C in any of your classes, you’ll get rescinded. Also if you get arrested or something. But I’m pretty sure the only way you won’t get in now is to get below a C or have your GPA drop below 2.8.
