Visiting Hours on Campus

<p>Are you allowed to have people spend the night in your dorm room if you live in an on campus dorm?</p>

<p>In theory there is a rule - like no more than three nights in a row and there is a guest pass form you are supposed to file but in reality no one ever uses it - I suppose that if your guest caused a problem it might become an issue but I think that as long as the guest is inconspicuous you are fine. Let me see if I can find that “rule” for you.

The decision to have an overnight guest must be mutually agreed upon by you and your roommate(s). With the consent of roommates, same sex guests may be invited to spend a maximum of three nights in the hall in any given 7-day period. No more than two overnight guests per room will be allowed. The host(ess) must register his/her overnight guest(s) at the 24-hour desk for his/her hall. By registering for a guest pass, the host(ess) is affirming that the stated individual is his/her guest and not the guest of another resident. It is a violation of university policy to sign in a guest under “false pretenses” in order to bypass existing guest hour policies. The host(ess) must escort the guest at all times within the building. Upon request, a guest may be asked to present identification and have their overnight guest registration verified with the front desk.
