Visiting

anyone know the bus situation for visiting Cornell? grey hound? price? tours? etc... website?
how long is the ride from new york city?
thanks

all i know is that the bus ride is between 4 to 5 hours

We are driving up from northern New Jersey on monday and it should take us about 4 hours each way. And I think the best bet from NYC is to either drive or take a bus. The train station doesn't go to Ithaca so you would have to get a cab from the closest train station (which I belive is 45 minutes away). That will be $$$.

Shortline/Coach USA buses go directly to Cornell campus. There are a few scheduled buses from Port Authority everyday. Greyhound does not stop on campus but goes to the bus terminal in town. It's about a 5 hour trip-
My d used the shortline buses a few times.

I took shortline and the ride was about 4-5 hours. I paid around $80…here this might help: http://www.coachusa.com/info/shortline/gc/coach.ss.tickets.item1.content.asp

anyone know the BEST route from NYC to ithaca?
shortest, fastest, least tolls?
thanks

how abotu airplane travel?

a cab from the airport is 13 bucks.. now you just have to get to the airport :P

NY Thruway to 17/86 to I81 in Binghampton and then exit 8, Rt 79 in to campus. It's forever on 17 .... and then about an hour from Bing.

do they have walking tours there now?

Sexy - I would suggest you look up this on the Cornell website. They have directions, ride times, even the names of the busses and trains. Really - they are a great wealth of information.

They also have the tour schedule up.

I would suggest taking a look at the CAS admissions website.

what about by airplane? how much would it cost (cheapest) and to what airport? from there, how much is the cab ride (or whatever) to cornell's campus? thanks, sorry if i am being like the OP haha

anyone know where the tours start? where do you meet? what they show? how it is? how long they last for? etc...
so if i go this summer they would have tours
Monday–Friday 9:00 AM 11:00 AM 1:00 PM 3:00 PM ?
thanks

"Tours begin at the Information and Referral Center in the Day Hall lobby" I took one of these tours and I really enjoyed it! you get to hear some great facts (some random lol) about the school and learn some general history... make sure to wear comfortable shoes tho, you will walk for a while! Otherwise the tour is normally run by a student and if i remember correctly it's about 1 hour or so...
