Two friends and I were going to visit this college during spring break but none of us are 18. I'm 17 the others are 16 and we're in our junior year of high school. We were wondering where we would sleep during the night since we're driving from Ohio which is about an eight hour drive. Are there any hotels that allow 17 year olds to rent out a room for 3-4 days?

I'm 17 from Ohio too!! And I'm gonna visit UNC also :) i believe that you are not allowed to sleep in motel/hotel until you are 21. I'm flying over there so I'm not staying night

Ahh I see, well that's cool but it'd be helpful if they put this information on their site right? lol.

Call the admissions office and ask if they have any suggestions. Sometimes they'll house you with current students.

I'd offer to let you stay with me, but I could only reasonably fit two more people in my tiny dorm room haha

Yeah, I'd call admissions and ask for advice. They may be able to place you with current students.

Some hotels will take you if you are 18. No way they take you at 17 though too much of a liability.

Thanks for all the help guys I'll be sure to call them and ask them for more details and Leah thank you for the offer anyways lol.

The people urging you to contact the admissions department for help are right. I would like to mention that hotels can't ban adults, 18 years or over, from booking a room.

^^nah, sometimes they'll only let people 21 (sometimes 25!) or older book a hotel room. my friends and i have run into problems with that before for spring break accomodation plans..
