<p>A reminder to those visiting music schools: call the hotels you are considering, and ask if they have a discounted rate associated with the conservatory/university. We are visiting Peabody soon, and looked at online at the Wyndham Peabody Court. Then I called them, and was offered a Peabody rate; the room cost is 50% less than the AAA rate I was offered online. These rates are not posted online, you must call.</p>
<p>This may not work for all schools, but it's worth the call.</p>
<p>You can also get discounted rates at hotels in Manhattan, but again, you have to call the hotels (and not the chain, but the local hotel). The rate is not offered online. We stayed at the Hudson several times for a diminished rate. </p>
<p>The Glidden House and the Marriott at University Circle have special rates for CIM and CWRU. Again, call the places directly and ask!</p>
<p>Manhattan School of Music has a list of hotels that offer deals for people coming for auditions. So sometimes you can call the school and they can direct you to hotels to try.</p>

<p>Listenmissy, brace yourself for the cost of hotel parking in Baltimore; it’s $35/night at the Wyndham Peabody Court, for example. I checked a few other places, and the prices are similar. I’ll report back at the end of the week on the hotel if you’d like.</p>

<p>If you do Rice the Houston Mariott at the Texas Medical Center has a discount. It’s still pricey but a lovely hotel and is right across from the campus. </p>
<p>The Glidden House for CIM is fantastic and about 300 ft from the school. It might not be the best place to stay for auditions but for visiting I think the rate is very reasonable (I’m used to Chicago ) and breakfast is included. </p>
<p>ZaZa Hotel is about 3 blocks from Rice and is extravagant fun. Their Rice visitor price is also drastically lower that the regular rate. LOVE that place!</p>
