Volunteering... do you need to get proof?

<p>I'm in California and plan on going to a UC college. I volunteered over the summer, but my high school doesn't provide any sort of forms to prove that you volunteered. At the same time, I've heard my counselor say that you don't need to have any proof for college applications (If I didn't misunderstand).</p>

<p>If I DO need to prove that I did it, what sort of informations do I need to get from the person I volunteered for?</p>

<p>I would just type up some sort of a form that shows that you volunteered on certain days and times. After, I would just get the volunteer coordinator to sign it:)</p>
