Hey whats up with that u guys know why that happened. well screw cornell

Because Cornell is better than Harvard.

Actually, admissions are so random. It depends on what the school is looking for, usually in the name of diversity. For example, you may have had a hook at Harvard that was really rare there, but is super common at Cornell.

topgun..i know how you feel...I was accepted to Stanford and rejected by Cornell.

Was it to one of the schools that does Rolling? I got waitlisted because though I had my app in JUST in time, there was a delay at the processing center (they thought they lost my stuff from guidance). The contact at Cornell that I have is "furious" about this and Rolling in general. What I think is pretty cool is that the woman who interviewed me and raved about me is now resigning as a result of this (and other past) admissions decisions.

Cornell is doing themselves serious harm by basing admissions on application arrival and not on academic caliber.

Oh, P.S. I got waitlisted at Harvard and accepted at Brown...

oh really? is that what cornell is doing? b/c i turned in my supplement and fin aid info late cuz I totally forgot about it..

Cardinal, it's hard to tell online, but that was sarcasm, right? It all depends on which school you applied to. Some do rolling, some do not.

EDIT: And upon inspection of your earlier post, I see you were rejected, so I guess you were serious. Haha... sorry.

so go to Harvard

well shut up and go to stupid Harvard. You dont deserve to go to Cornell with that attitude

Hey, that's what happened to me! But, in the end, if I was waitlisted or rejected, that means I was probably not a match for the school and therefore would not be happy. Admissions officers are not snarky people trying to attack us. (I applied to Arts and Sciences)

I have 2 friends accepted to Harvard and rejected from cornell. It just means that cornell's admisisons officers either felt you would not attend cornell or not do well at cornell, just like every other applicant that gets rejected. Theres nothing shameful about being rejected from cornell.

I was rejected by Cornell but excepted into the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. I'm still a little confused... but things turned out for the best. I'd much rather go to Penn.

yea...I think i was rejected at cornell because i turned in my supplement a day late and my mid year grades kinda dropped afetr i was admitted SCEA...and my counselor or teachers might have mentioned me getting into stanford in my recs...but i'm pretty sure it was the grades...neways...Congrats to all who were accepted!

just to let you know...turning in your application late is not a factor at all in admissions. I didn't even turn in my application until MID JANUARY and got ACCEPTED, into CAS.

there a tons of qualified applicants applying to just a few spots. They have to turn away most of them. each school weighs each factor differently, and thus, accepts different students. just because a school has a higher acceptance rate/ lower in the rankings doesn't mean that they will accept someone who gets accepted elsewhere. they'll accept who they want, they are private afterall.

stop making conjectures with anecdotes. 24000+ people applied. a couple of cases would make them the exceptions, and not the norm.

People need to stop being arrogant jerks...just because Harvard and Stanford want you doesn't mean Cornell does...maybe Cornell doesn't like your crappy attitude :)

Doesn't supprise me at all.

For instance. . . . .I got into Cornell Arts and Sciences, but waitlisted at Colgate.

Bandage up your bruised ego and go to Harvard. There's nothing we can do about it.

Huck Fahvahd. Seriously dude, quit whining, go to H, get all A's with no work, graduate and get rich. You have to be cool to get into Cornell, and obviously you don't qualify. CU had like a million apps this year, and a lot of really damn smart people don't like HYP and prefer a school like cornell where they can actually live their lives. So no, just because it isnt Harvard doesnt mean that everyone can go here, sorry.

oooh it just got really hot in here....:P feels like...buuuuuuuurn

Sorry sparticus, no flame war this time (its been a while tho hasnt it?)....my money says pansy is too ashamed to show his face on the Cornell board again, which is a good thing for everyone involved.

I swear, I'm like sparks, wherever I go flames have potential to appear haha. Hey perro, do you recommend I get hosted for cornell days or should I try and find a friend to stay with so I can enjoy a truely authentic cornell experience?
