I was waitlisted for mcgill today for the faculty of Arts (I’m still waiting to hear back from the faculty of Education)…It’s my top school, and I’m freaking out because my second choice is Universit

McGill’s standards are not lower for Canadians in general, only those from Quebec.

Jillian - I heard education is SO easy to get into; don’t worry. The deadline hear-by date is supposedly tmrw, so we’ll see. Good Luck :)

Just accepted a spot on the waitlist. I also called the admissions office. The good news is that, no, the waitlist isn’t binding or incur any financial obligations. The bad news is that the time period is extremely vague and even if you were accepted it might be in mid-May after you have already put your deposit in on another school.

Wow…I just got waitlisted to Arts. After getting waislisted for Management on Friday. What a great couple of days for me =)

I REALLY hope they let me know before May 1st, because I need to let my American schools know by then. I’ll call tomorrow and see what’s up. Thanks

emil775 - Thank you so much! I LOVE Mcgill, and Montreal (who couldn’t?!), so hopefully everything works out. I hope you end up at McGill too - I hear management is really tough to get into, so maybe your arts waitlist will come through! I’ll keep my fingers crossed. :)

Thanks, you too! I’m just so sick of waiting haha. I love Montreal and especially McGill though after visiting for the Open house… sigh

Yes their standards are lower for canadians. And we don’t have any mandatory standardized testing

I still haven’t heard from Education…***? I have to tell my second choice school (Universit

Oh no! That’s weird! Make sure to keep us updated; I wanna know what happens. Did u apply to Macdonald campus? I guess worst-case scenario; you put deposit for UM and just wait :frowning: sorry

I got in to Arts off the waitlist!! And it turns out that the reason my Education application still wasn’t (isn’t) decided upon is because there is a test you have to take if you want to major in English as a Second Language (my back up choice to Arts). I am thrilled, and thank you guys for supporting me.

WHAT? you just got off the waitlist? I TOTALLY hate you! And that’s because this now means i’m gonna check every. single. day. because i could be accepted anytime. great haha. but congrats! And good luck on education too

Actually, you’re gonna have to hate me too, because I just got in off the waitlist too. I still have that persistent feeling like it was a computer error, but I got an email today that told me to check my status thing again because “an admissions decision had been reached.”

I’m really surprised - waitlisted for one week, then admitted? I assumed that even if I were admitted off the list it would be weeks after I had already put a deposit down elsewhere.

jotc, that was what I thought too…Doesn’t it seems weird that they would have spots available before the response deadline for accepted students. oh well, I’m not complaining! And emil775, I’m sure that you’ll get accepted. Honestly, my grades were good but not fantastic, and my math SATs were awful. ACTS were pretty good overall.

Gah! I just got refused (ltd space available) for management, but i’d still prefer arts anyway, which i’m still on the waitlist for. I REALLY need to hear back so I can calm down. I’m still praying and hoping that there’s a chance…

Got wait listed for Desautels, accepted the Waitlist, and i will simply see what happens. Although probably is, most of my other schools have a dead line of May 1, although I could simply deposit for a school and then cancel my offer if I do get into McGill and decide to go there, but that would be wasting money…
Oh well, good luck to everyone who got wait listed!

I got wait listed for Desautels too, but I am a transfer student from a Canadian University.

well i have been waitlisted for mechancial engineering but i got a leter from mcgill saying that it can offer me electrical so i got accepted for that. Anyways i found it quite odd because i had 11A in o lvl and 4A in AS and still got waitlisted. i suppose the course is very competetive. Its kinda fine cuz i can change my field after an year and who knows maybe i like electrical mroe than mechanical

I just got waitlisted for BA&Sc… are you sure that if I accept the waitlist offer that it won’t act as any sort of commitment or cost me anything?
