Wait-listed from Boston College?

I was wait-listed from Boston College and thus had to send my deposit into UConn. I don't find out from BC until July 1st at the LATEST. If I were to get accepted off the waitlist, any suggestions on what I should do? I mean I will have gone to UConn's orientation by then and I already have a roommate for UConn. I just feel like BC is too good of a school to turn down.
P.S. Money is not in consideration here
P.P.S. I'm going into accounting

Any thoughts/opinions/similar stories?

stay on the waitlist, pay the deposit, act as if you are going to UConn, get excited for it…

If you get off the waitlist then yay! of not, then at least you are pumped for your other school.

Ya if money isn’t a problem then just wait it out. do what you can to get off the waitlist at BC and hope for the best.

I got waitlisted at BC, eventually admitted. I don’t care though, I am going to Villanova full ride.

A friend of mine’s daughter chose UConn over BC - could have gone to either. Money wasn’t an obsticle. UConn must be pretty good…

My S just chose UConn over BC. Money was not a major factor, although his attitude was to save the money to go to Law/Grad school in 4 yrs. It was a major plus to be accepted into the Honors program @ UConn. If these are factors for you, you might want to reconsider.

That being said, BC’s business program has a good rep., and the locations are entirely different. UConn is so big however and there are so many kids still on campus on the weekends (not a suitcase school any longer) that it brings a different dynamic.

At least you know your going somewhere next year.

UConn accounting program is rated #11 in the country per business week (check out the ratings by discipline). I am a grad of this program – it is the best program in the business school, outstanding professors.

BC is an excellent school, but you are not trading down in this case.

Best of luck
