Waiting for Godot ..... Early Decision

thanks
it’s a bit of a reach for him- Vassar College in NY. He’s been there a few times, spent the night and attended classes and he absolutely loves it there. It’s really the perfect place for him- strong academics but very artsy- he’s a musician, actor, and filmmaker…Very down to earth- not at all competitive but does very well in school. Kind…can you tell I love him??

He does have other great schools to apply to RD. But he just clicked with Vassar to a major degree.

He’s at a rehearsal this afternoon that ends at 5:30. Supposedly decision gets posted online at 5:00. I don’t know if he’ll check at 5 somehow or if he’ll wait till he gets home. Oh my.

Tufts results are up…and D1 has been accepted. I am thrilled for her–she is going to have a wonderful four years.

Hoping to hear more good news on this thread!

congrats SlitheyTove- that’s awesome!!

^ Just logged on and saw the good news. Congrats to SlitheyTove’s D!

Yes, breathe! We are starting to hear from d’s friends with good news. Colby says it mails the decision on or before the 15th - don’t know if they post online. If not, then we might as well get the Middlebury app done this weekend, as the supplement and fee is required by Dec. 15th. Was hoping we could save the $65 if she did get in… Seems rather strange that they have such an early deadline for regular decision - am I getting this right?
Crossing my fingers, and trying to breathe…

MAMom: yes- you’ve got it right on Middlebury is on my son’s RD list too. I thought there are no extra supplemental essays or questions. Just payment on the 15th and then app on 1/1. It’s kinda confusing.

Good news here also. My daughter got accepted to BU!

Congrats ST. Our daughters will both have to brave the Boston winters.

congrats Momjr! I’ve lived in New England all my life. Yep, it’s cold alright.

Count me in the confused column on Midd…submitted the supplement yesterday and read something about payment taking several days to post and decided to go ahead and pay. S still has a little work left on the Common App. 9 schools - all hard to keep straight.

Congrats to all the ED acceptances! Whew :)

Congrats to momjr and slitheytove!! I don’t have an ED kid but I am thrilled for all (and also a little thrilled your fabulous kids are out of the RD pool!)

Joke!!

Us too, Slitheytove!

I haven’t been near a computer since my S1 saw acceptance letter at 3:05pm EST, but I’m on now! :)

My S1 accepted to TUFTS University, Boston, Massachusetts, his top pick!!

Momjr and Slitheytove: we’ll have to introduce our kids since all three will be in Boston! YAY!!

Okay, mommyg…you’re next!!

Congratulations CCC! Tufts is great and Boston looks like a great place to go to college. It looks like this thread has brought us all good luck.

Yay, momjr’s daughter and CCC’s son!

I am laughing about the cold winters business–D1 complains that our house is too cold in the morning. The thermometer read…an inhumane 64 degrees!!! And THIS is the kid who will be in Boston, LOL! :)

OMG…did all of you have good results??? Welcome to the “WE ARE DONE” camp…doesn’t it feel great?

I’m so happy for all of you…

Congrats to momjr’ D & CCC’s S.

Enjoy!

congrats momjr!!

he got denied :(

sorry mommyg…
my d’s BFF was rejected ED at Tufts. She is heartbroken. So hard with those uber competitive schools. Stat wise she was very competitive, but it is the other factors that matter in the end at schools like that.

How is your son doing mommyg? Does he have other options that he is happy with?

sorry for this pain, mommyg. Your son’s interests sounds just like my 2 sons, and I really hate this bad luck outcome for a great, kind and talented guy. There will be good news for him in the next round.

mommyg, i’m sorry to hear your news but I second what madbead wrote above. Good news will follow.

To all those w/kids on their way to Boston, congrats. It’s a great place to study – I loved it all those years ago!

I’m a bundle of nerves as we wait to hear from 3 schools next week, but what will be, will be.
