This may be just me, but I really HIGHLY doubt UPenn has already decided their “extended waitlist.” I think it’s a bit too early for Penn to do that, so I highly bet there’s going to be a second wave very soon, especially in June.

I say this because it seems like in past years, there was a “large” wave in June, and another one in July. This is from what everyone else has been saying on this forum (esp. in UPenn Waitlist 2013).

What do you guys think?

Thanks, Xaari! I wish that was the same case for the program I applied, too…
Oh well~ life goes on! xD

For the rest of you who are still on Penn’s waiting list, I was wondering… what college have you deposited to already? For me, it’s USP.

Here’s the link of one of the forums that I was reading through a lot about a couple weeks ago, and I thought it was very interesting. (I felt like I was going through the entire ride called “Waiting List” with them… before noticing that, oh yeah, I am going through that right now… haha, just not done of the full ride yet. ^^ Hehe~)

Uhm… another place where I got the hint that June is quite a significant month for Penn’s waitlisted students is in this very forum post #… TT TT I can’t seem to find it…
Well, it was someone who said that the people they know who got off Penn’s waiting list got off in June (if anybody knows the exact post, that would be great… haha… because then I won’t look I’m making stuff up ><). :)

That’s true, but it may vary year by year. I didn’t look at what the wait list process was like for the class of 2012 though…

I feel nervous every day and I’m constantly checking my email inbox, but I’m also trying to focus my attention on another things to stop myself from going crazy… hehe.
How about you guys?
What are you doing during this wait?

Like for instance, I’ve been contacting USP to see what I can do over the summer to prepare for the school year.

Still though, I am still thinking of how great it would be if Penn accepted me. The joy~~ I hope! Until then… I’m currently in my high school’s senior final week, and then freedom~ hehe.

shultzie92, if you don’t mind me asking, which campus were you accepted to for PSU?
I wanted to take a summer class at PSU, but all the campuses are super far from where I live… ^^

If it’s of any interest, Dartmouth cut their waitlist dramatically a few days ago. I’m uncertain how many still remain on the extended waitlist. My D is among them though. She’s also waiting to hear something from Penn, Cornell, and Princeton. I know Princeton will close their list on 6/30. Thus far, they’ve called up 138 and 108 have responded yes. (I’m not sure if the remaining ones have not yet responded or have simply declined.)

@shultzie92: Is that the same as main campus? :)

@jc40: I wonder if Penn will cut its waiting list dramatically… but I’m kind of thinking no because Penn received the same statistics that it received last year, right? Just with more applicants, but the same yield percentage… I don’t know, lol. I just hope that’s not the case, but anyway, I want to be like that one student who said, “As long as there’s one spot left, there’s hope!” Hehe~

yupp its main campus I think a cut will be coming soon like it did on the 8th for the class of 2013. I just hope I make the cut haha. Im just gettin paranoid/desperate now, kinda wanna email the choir director and see if he could pull any strings for a memeber of the All-State Chorus lol

For some reason, I don’t feel very nervous… unless I start thinking about it a lot but I’ve trying to be so focused on my current high school assignments along with preparing for the summer that I haven’t been thinking about this UPenn waiting list to the point where I’m shaking from nervousness… haha. But still…

@ shultzie92: I think that would be a good idea. I tried to contact someone from the Bio department to do that… but I don’t think he really got the message… xD Haha~ I tried! I tried my best though and if there’s anything I can do, I will… but in the meantime, I’ll try to be patient… (I feel like I keep saying this to convince myself x]).

I, too, hope we make the cuts! That would be great! There’s a lot at Penn that I want to pursue…

@ dx1992: So does that mean that everyone else for Harvard is on the extended waiting list if they were not discontinued?

I wonder who else on CC is still on Penn’s waiting list. So there’s shultzie92 and myself, and I saw the list of who is on Penn’s waiting list on the other topic forum, but I wonder out of those accepted, who is still on.

In this together~

Has anybody contacted their regional director lately? Any news? I emailed mine last week, but I’m still waiting for his reply about the waiting list.

I don’t there is any point in emailing our regional directors now, or waiting for a reply from them jhua09 seeing how any moment now you’ll be notified what happened with your application status. People are already being taken off as we speak so we just have to hang in there for a little longer because the waiting is (AT LAST cue hallelujah playing in the background) ALMOST over.
Now that I got that out of the way, I need to go back to religiously checking my email.

*EDIT: by taken off do you mean “accepted” taken off? Or taken off as to include rejected as well.

omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg

However bad this idea sounds, I really want to call them and just get all this waitlist business over with. I die a little bit on the inside with disappointment everytime I come home, see “3 unread messages”, squirm with excitement, and open my inbox to find that my friend has invited me to yet another completely random and pointless page on facebook, a certain part of my body needs enlarging and my internet plan is about to expire.

Oh well, I suppose if they still don’t say anything after June 1st, that gives us a legitimate reason to call them since their decision letter says they’d announce between May 15th and June 1st.

Earth to paranoid Waitlisters Its Memorial Day! Nobodys in the admissions office today, theres not gonna be any activity until at least tomorrow. So go out and enjoy the weather! lol

@Swaggerer: crap my bad sorry, got mixed up with the columbia WL letter, but the penn letter does say mid-may on the faq section in the MyDecision page.

This was my only Ivy that did not reject me, but, like y’all, I was waitlisted. However, moving on was one of the best things I did. You guys will happy whether or not things work out with Penn. Bets of luck. :)
