<p>Does there seem to be any hope for people on the waitlist this year? There are already 1,098 people in the Facebook group for Stanford Class of 2011.</p>
<p>Yeah haha it's not looking good. Oh well. What did you expect anyway? I for one didn't expect much.</p>

<p>The facebook group also includes a lot of current Stanford students who like to give advice to us incoming frosh. And, we do have Dean Julie and Mr. Abbott amongst everyone. Also, a lot of people joined the group via the admit website and are in it even if they have decided to attend another school.</p>
<p>chances getting off the waitlist are still really slim
but we should still have hope, right? lol it doesnt really matter anyway since we all committed.
anyway, who knows when we'll be notified?</p>
<p>Hmm, someone in the general admissions forum posted that they got a letter from Stanford saying that they weren't taking anyone from the waitlist this year. Confirm/Deny?</p>

they did say that they generally take some students from the waitlist..so i was kinda hoping they would do the same this year too..</p>

response to our offers of admission has been such that we have
determined we will not be going to our wait list this year.</p>

Stanford. No doubt this news is deeply disappointing. We felt,
however, that it was important to let you know this as soon as we
realized that all spots in the Class of 2011 have been taken so you
can focus your attention on your other options. We very much regret
that we are unable to offer you admission to Stanford for this fall.</p>
