Waitlist

Does anyone know what is going on with the Waitlist ?

I’m pretty sure the WL is done by now… Maybe another couple people, but at this point, there has been plenty of time to contact those they want to admit.

Someone told me they called up, and were told that “They do not know at this time whether they’ll have to go to the waitlist or not”.

Sounds like we’re getting axed. twice.

it wont be “another couple people,” as it appears they have let nobody in off of the waitlist at this point

I don’t know if this is against the rules or anything
but
*.
But its not like we didn’t know. We just didn’t want to face the truth. Still,
*.

10chars, bump

I don’t think many will be getting acceptance letters from the waitlist this year.
From what I have read, almost all of them are out and not many were taken. The only ones that will be later sent are for students who committed and back out

^ Where’d you read that?

Talked Cornell this pm. I was told that they are “very likely” NOT going to use their waitlist for Arts and Sciences. I was told written notification should be out next week.

10chars, bump

Do you mean you called up?

Shall I officially give up hope? It’d be nice to receive notification or something…

I’d give up hope. It would be a miracle for someone to get taken off this late… Probably only to make up for the handful of rescinded admittances, or for people who defer. Idk.

Abandon all hope, ye who would love to enter here.

it seems almost ironic that higher level institutions, such as Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford, are all dipping into their waitlists more than Cornell.

It seems almost ironic that you are waiting for waitlist news from Cornell and are calling Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford higher level…

um, how is that ironic in any way? or was the key word “almost”
HPS are higher level.

If you base your “higher level” on the fact that these schools have a lower admission rate. But as for the academics at these institutions, I politely disagree with your claim.

If Cornell was sure not to take anyone, wouldn’t they have told us at this point?

Also, has anyone actually been accepted from it? Not GT, acceptance; do you know if they have committed?

someone said that cornell was supposed to send out letters last week. a lot of other colleges also sent final letters out last week (washu, uchicago in weeks before), so maybe cornell is still debating whether or not they want to take people off.
