Waitlisted... now what?

I was rejected from Carlson School of Management (Accounting Major) and waitlisted in the College of Arts & Sciences.. I'm an OOS applicant from Northern Virginia.

I was wondering.. what's the next step to be put from the waitlist to the admitted list?
(I want to go to Minnesota since my dad lost his job 5 months ago, it's a good school, cheap for out of state, and my dad is currently being recruited for a job in the Minneapolis area).

i got waitlisted for CLA today (minn resident) as a transfer. I’d love to know the same.

Buddy of mine got in this semester for transfer with a 3.0 college average in CLA. my GPA is a 2.8, but a very improving trend (had a rocky freshman yr) with a 3.5 fall 09 gpa.

What can I do to improve my standing as well? I know my stats arent great at all (25 ACT also. i submitted those)

If i manage another 3.5+, could that put me in? or should i just look forward to applying again?

Haha Bumping sorta but im curious too i was waitlisted at CAS and im OOS also… minnesota is tied for number one right now :/

What are your stats Amandarin?

28 ACT 1800 SAT, and currently a 3.47/ 3.87 gpa

What do we do now after we got waitlisted?
Oh and my mom got a call from the U today asking her to donate and she said no… lol am I rejected now?

i guess all you can do is to wait?..this is why they call it wait-list, huh…
best luck.

RedZero: lol…

Hahaha that’s really funny; two days after I receieved my “postponed letter” from UW-Madison, they called my house asking for an alumni donation as well. How silly of them…Anyways, I’m not sure what the waitlist protocol is at the U, but I’m going to send in my first semester grades along with letters of rec tomorrow. Hopefully it will help in the grand scheme of things…and GOOD LUCK to everyone else waiting like me! I HATE that I’m sooooo impatient!!

Son was accepted to the CEHD but wait listed for CBS. Anyone have any feel for how long that waitlist decision is to be made. That’s the school he wants to attend at U of Minnesota so I hope it’s soon. UW Madison wait list was now changed to accepted.
