Amherst is giving me a full ride... all grant money. Things are looking up. At least other colleges appreciated me.

I may just take a spot on the waitlist for the heck of it. I don't expect to get in, nor do I really care anymore, especially after looking over Columbia's art department and not being very impressed.

I too have been waitlisted so I want to beg anyone who is set to attend another school, PLEEEASSSEE keep spots open for the rest of us who want to go to CU sooo much. Thank you. Also for those of you admitted, if it's not your first choice, help out us waitlisted and worried kids.

darkling, just a word of encouragement. I wrote a poem for my essay on the real app, I modeled it after Sylvia Plath's sonnet: to time and wrote a sonnet: to my future. I guess the adcom really liked it because I got in regular decision despite grades and scores that, while I thought they were really good, are definitely on the low end of what I've seen from other successful applicants on CC. I hope they appreciate your creativity!

I'm really "hard core Columbia" I will go if accepted, although it will be a little wierd because I am accepting a spot at UNC where a few of my friends are going. Well, chances are they wouldn't have to understand. And it's not like I'm great friends with them anyway.

Waitlist accept/reject letters will be sent out mid to late May (according to last year's boards). That's the first round. Last year, they also sent out letters which kept a small group (-100, I think) of people on the waitlist in case they had a round 2. Those people were not notified until late June.

Btw, I'm also a hard-core Columbia-wannabe...but I'm trying to consider myself rejected so that I don't get false hopes...the prospects of getting in are waaayy tooo slim....
