yeah. I totally thought I'll get owned, particular after Penn and Dartmouth and (this is surprising - I visited and everything) Cornell already had the pleasure of $%*#ing me over.

There is a 1/billion chance now.

but it's still a chance :)

Wombat,

Congrats...sort of!!! Where in Chicago are you? I am too.

I join the list with you. Well, at least I'm not rejected.

Waitlisted!
Honestly, I thought I was going to be pretty upset but after getting punched in the stomach by Cornell and Penn, i'll take a waitlist.

i was expecting the worst after a pleasant "F YOU" from dartmouth. got waitlisted instead. honestly, do we even have a chance? also got waitlisted to cornell. wow my college list deteriorated quickly...

the dartmouth rejection letter was sooo nice!!!

Are you going to stay on the waitlist or withdraw your application? I think I'm going to withdraw mine. I hope you guys will end up at an amazing school where you will be happy as you deserve to be.

I am not going to accept a place on the wait list. I will go to either Notre Dame or Rice.
I agree that the Dartmouth letter was pretty brutal. I was glad I had already ruled it out before I got it and had never really loved the school. I feel really bad for everyone who had that as their first choice and then got that letter.
Good luck to all of you who decide to take your chances with the wait list!

hairypotty i feel your pain. i know how much you wanted to get in. its a shame we were both waitlisted. im basically regarding this as a rejection, as my chances of getting in off the waitlist are low, and its useless to get my hopes up. ill leave my app in the pool in case a miracle occurs, but my hopes arent high...

emswim - that would be me. it was like they were trying to use the nicest voice possible to tell you to "Go F yourself". pretty brutal.

I got waitlisted too... will keep my name on it... can't hurt, you dig?

Jvhowube- I'm really sorry. I don't know if you are religious at all, but I believe that when God closes a door He opens a window. I know it is hard, but maybe there is something better out there for you. Best of luck!

Between 10 to 75 have been accepted in the past off the waitlist...

So...how many are put on the waitlist?

Good question!!!!!!!! Add me to the waitlist

around 1000 people are put on the waitlist, last year they only had room for 10.

Why do they waitlist that many when they have never accepted more than 75? They should only waitlist, say, 100 applicants so that it actually means something.

any international applicants got waitlisted?

Hey, what was so mean about the dartmouth letter? just out of curiosity

I don't know how to explain it... not really mean, just very blunt. I didn't exactly read it carefully for obvious reasons.
