I'm OOS too and we had 7/7 people get into UNC-CH

wow my school had way more than 7 people apply

we had like 10 people apply, 2 were waitlisted, rest were rejected (in state)

Does anyone know if you are assigned a PID when you make your application? I am applying as a sophomore transfer and have a PID number but haven't been accepted yet. I looked on this website, https://s4.its.unc.edu/SISMisc/pidwmp. Let me know if anyone who is waitlisted or rejected has one of these. Thanks

one of my best friends applied OOS. she too was waitlisted, but i really thought she would get in because she had good stats (though i don't know them exactly) and she was a DOUBLE legacy. she has been waiting her whole life to go to UNC, i really hope it all works out.

wow i'm very surprised a lot of y'all got waitlisted!

Hey,

I applied to UNC and UVA. I got into UNC even though I was pretty confident I would be waitlisted. I guess they really liked my essays....

If I get into UVA, ill probably go there. (so get on the waitlist and maybe you guys can have my spot....)

I had a 92/100 gpa and a 1490 on my SATs (800m/690cr/710w)- 2200/2400

Good luck.... Stay in there and get on the waitlist. Like some people have already said, not everyone who got accepted is going to go (perhaps me). Other people apply to the Ivys and other top schools and if they get in there, they are going to go.... Just hold out if you got waitlisted and you still really want to go to UNC. You've still got a great chance. Being on the waiting list is infinitely better than being rejected.

Good luck to all you Wannabee Tarheels. You can do it!

I was waitlisted.

taking 4 APs this year

does anyone know how many people UNC usually accepts off the waitlist?

Last year 270. http://www.ais.unc.edu/ir/CDS/pdf%20files/cds2006_2007.pdf

the year before that, only 1 person got off the waitlist right?

According to the Common Data Set there were 7.

ok, i know the waitlisted letter said it didn't recommend you send anything extra besides your final grades, but is there anything else we can do??

would it HURT me to send an extra recommendation or something!? UNC's my number one and i don't want to just give up . . .

I think it's quite obvious what you have to do.

Sit on CC and persuaded those who got accepted to go to another school ;)
