waitlisted

Wow, this thread is really getting me worried as Wash U is one of my junior's top choices at this point. My sympathies go out to all of you! I'm just trying to figure out how to help my s: could I ask which of you made campus visits? [trying to pick up some sort of pattern here, because it seems so confusing... ]

i had a campus visit, and an informal interview. i fell in love with the place, but it looks as though i must let go :(

heidi, i hope this helps. i was accpeted w/ a 1420 720/620/620.... not impressive i know, but i'm involved in my high shcool and community. plus, i flew out twice to see the school (I live in MA) and interviewed. i even said in my essay it was my top choice

one thing you guys may not be taking into consideration is the school u applied to. the art&sci is the hardest to get accepted while the b-school is easiest

I got waitlisted and I decided before I finished applying that I don't want to go to WUSTL (I finished the app. because I had to fill it out for another college and I already paid the app. fee. I was so surprised to find out I was waitlisted considering that...

I showed NO interest in the college (besides sending one of those little interest postcard things they send you when you're a sophomore/junior). I never visited (I live in a suburb of Chicago so it's not too far away), I never attended an info session, and I never had an interview.

I had descent test scores, but nothing compared to the other people waitlisted. I had a 32 on the ACT, 1390 SAT, 710 Writing, 690 Bio, and 670 Lit SAT IIs

My essay was awful. I didn't even have it read by an English teacher.

I did have good ECs, recs (I assume), and grades (3.9 and ranked 6).

My question is, why would they put me on their waiting list and not just flat out reject me? I'm not a minority or anything so it can't be for that..

Anyway, while everyone else is complaining, I'm rejoicing! It's given me hope for Cornell :) Good luck to everyone, and I hope you get in to WUSTL eventually. I'll be taking my name of the wait-list, most likely.

I was very surprised and disappointed to find that I had been waitlisted at WashU. I honestly didn't expect this at all. 1500/760/750/750, 2/444, 4.26/4.33. My only saving grace was my SCEA acceptance at Stanford, and I guess I'm lucky to have that peace of mind. My parents are moving to St. Louis though, and it would have been nice to have the option of following. Oh well....I'm not so sure it was meant to be.

someone at my school who got into MIT and caltech got waitlisted at WashU (she's a rickoid/went to RSI so obviously she's overqualified).

i also got waitlisted, and i was pretty surprised b/c i got likelies at dartmouth, unc-ch, and uva, and an early write from williams. but after i read about the boosting yield rate and whatnot bizniz i understood. i just regret not learning about this before i applied to colleges, otherwise i would not have wasted my time on WashU. now it can kiss my sweet-and-sour chicken ass -_-.

This was my target/realistic school because not too many ppl from NJ apply from what I've heard. I was wrong.

o, and National Merit Finalist too

Does anyone know of the chances of getting in after being waitlisted? Does anyone know anyone from previous years who got in after being waitlisted or something? just wondering...ohh and is there anything i can do to help?

lets see according to another thread 4000 were accepted for a class of 1350. Now almost everyone else was waitlisted, so go on from there:)

Waitlisted

Whatever. My friend w/ a 1600, 4.0 UW, all 800s and AMAZING EC's got waitlisted too. So...yeah...

Waitlisted
Well, if they are doing the Tuft's thing, it's working. I could care less either way at this point. I applied to WashU b/c my dad wanted me too. I was never really seriously considering it unless they offered me money. Still have to hear from Penn (first choice), Chicago, Rice and UT Business Honors (2nd choice maybe).

1560 800/790/680

I'm kind of relieved by the waitlist thing. It makes my decision a lot easier.

screw the diploma, I don't really have any motivation to document all my CAS hours by next Monday. Not like it does anything anyway. I just feel that I wasted the last two (maybe 4) years of my life with their ********.

hahaha yes... oh btw no ib kids got in early..cept this one kid to harvey mudd and *** is that.. 4 kids applied early to hahhvahhd 2 were ib..the 2 non ib kids got in while the ib kids deferred lol its hilarious.. dont worry though..it wasnt for nothin- im sure ull get in somewehre great w/ the stats u have..

That IS a crime. I am so glad I applied ED. I hope she gets off the waitlist, if she still wants to!
