Wash U Waitlist Responses

Has anyone who heard from Wash U about his/her waitlist decision? Please let all of us know...

I have been working hard to get off the wait list (sent letters, visited campus, attended a class). The chair of one of the departments actually wrote a letter to admissions on my behalf. One of the representatives emailed my counselor saying how happy he was that I was interested. Unfortunately, the person I've been in contact with said the class is full and it will be unlikely they will admitting anyone from the waiting list.

do you mean that your region rep said that the class is full?? that makes me sad

Nooooooooooooo!

the class is full?? :(

You could transfer to Wash U in January-b/c there will be students coming and going at that time

ahh that's depressing. i've done a ton trying to get in. is the entire class full or just the area that you were looking at?

according to the guy i was talking to, the entire class

yeah he sent me an email, they're not taking anyone off the waitlist. we'll get our letters in the mail soon.

Is this a confirmed info? Even for Intls??

well this was the email he sent me

Dear ___,

Thank you for your email and your interest in Washington University.

The Freshman class of 2006 is now full, and we will not be able to make additional offers of admission from the Wait List. You will receive a letter by mail in the next few days that will detail the situation further.

We understand that his is disappointing news. We appreciate your interest in Washington U. and we wish you the best of luck in the next four years of your college experience!

Best,

oh!!!!!!!
:( :(

perhaps this is optimistic, but if you read the letter it doesnt say no spots were given to people on the waitlists, but rather that no additional spots are available

Students will drop out after 1st semester...(?)

I was in the same boat as you guys last year, and I know it sounds mean, but don't count on the waitlist!!! They admit very few!

Check ur accounts..a letter appears when you click "Check your Waitlist Response"

No one was taken off the waitlist!!

Thanks. You were right. this was the letter posted:

I am writing in reference to your application for admission to Washington University for the 2006 fall semester.

With the National Candidates’ Reply Date of May 1 behind us, we have assessed our enrollment situation for the incoming freshman class. Due to the number of students accepting our offer of admission, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer any additional places in the freshman class.

Washington University is extremely receptive to qualified transfer students who, during the course of an initial year or more of successful college study elsewhere, find that their interest in our University continues to be strong. If you are interested in learning more about transfer possibilities for the future, we do hope you will keep in touch with us.

We fully acknowledge the added anxiety being on our wait list has meant to many students and we genuinely appreciate your ongoing interest in Washington University during the recent application process. We send you our very best wishes for success during your first year of study at your chosen institution.

Sincerely,

Director of Admissions

yup.. i got that too..

Oh well, I wasn't going to accept their spot anyway so I guess it doesn't matter. Although I would have liked to say I cleaned the house :)

I got that too :)

Well.. but, I don't see any reason why I would want to transfer from Stern to Olin.... so...
