Watching sports in college

I’m a huge Chicago sports fan - chicago cubs, bears, bulls. I’m from Alaska (so we have no legit professional sports teams to follow and our college sports are a joke) but my dad was born and raised in Chicago so I followed what he followed.

I don’t really watch hockey at all but I guess I’d root for the Blackhawks…but as I go to Michigan State…it is generally a bad idea to mention that fact because of the crazy amounts of Red wings fans here.

I also love watching Michigan state football and more particularly, Spartan basketball. Ya know…the team with one of the best coaches in NCAA history (Tom Izzo!) who has taken the Spartans to the final 4 6 times…no big deal.

^i love izzo, he is basically everything i like in a coach. his players often stay longer (unlike calipari who basically just runs an nba training camp), hes a great coach, he wins a lot somehow, he recruits very heavily in Michigan (11 of the 15 were last year and only one player was from outside the midwest), and he is a good guy with no (i think) recruiting violations. i think everyone, including myself, was so relieved when he said he wont be leaving msu. i guess every player that was stayed all for years since he was the coach has gone to a final four

Just a bit of advice. Make sure that if you’re a “fan” of a team that you can actually name more than 3 players from that team. Otherwise your fanhood will be in question.

Callipari is everything that is wrong with college sports. He should be banned from coaching in college. He’s such a sleazeball- even worse than Lane Kiffin.
