In my (freshman) fall semester last year, I dropped out of a university mid semester. Not only did I pick the wrong major and hate my commute, but my mother broke her hand, making her unavailable to work. My family couldn’t afford the tuition even with scholarship and financial aid, so I dropped out and got a job to help support the family.
I ended up applying as a new student to my local community college (still working part-time), and by the end of this fall semester I will have 39 credits and a 4.0 gpa. I will be applying to schools for fall 2018 and plan on having about 57 credits come the end of Spring.
My transcript from the school I dropped out of has no grades on it, or any credit hours for that matter. All I have is 5 W’s (withdrawals). Will this greatly impact my ability to transfer into schools? This problem is always on the back of my mind and I would like to hear some opinions on it.
BTW: My old transcript has a major and classes on it that are different from what my current major and classes are today.
