Wellesley Class of 2019 EE Discussion Thread

@rach131 from what i’ve heard, “likely” is almost guaranteed acceptance and “unlikely” is almost guaranteed rejected.

Another EE applicant here. Anxiously waiting for the decision lol

I can’t wait until I know. Wellesley is my number one, with Pomona and Vassar as close seconds, and to know if I have to worry more or if I’m set is so invaluable. I also want to meet my classmates, something my ED friends at other schools have already gotten to do through Facebook pages for the admitted. Anyone else really anxious to start talking to future classmates?

@Sheetifers since it’s my number one, i’m SUPER excited about finding new classmates in the chance that i get a likely. i’m so scared you have no idea. (well, you probably do, but you catch my drift)

Only 10 days to go. The wait is agony. :frowning:

The worst besides unlikely is possible. God forbid I have to wait any longer than Feburary 23rd to know my fate. I’m above all of Wellesley’s averages, but holistic admissions means averages are discounted if they hate your essays.

The only thing I don’t have is a SAT 1 score that’s upto the average at Wellesley.
I really hope my essays were good enough for a likely.

@CluelessSenior in the exact same position. SAT 1 isn’t as good as it should be. praying that my essay gets me through as well!

Last year D received “possible,” then wait listed, then offered a place. So happy ending but endless waiting.

I applied EE as well, and I can’t wait for the decisions to be released ahhh

@rach131 - from what I gather, a likely is not a GUARANTEE of admission- its just that a larger percentage of people are accepted from the likely pool than from any other pool…I’m not really sure what early eval is advantageous for actually…I just did it because my application was anyway ready and I LOVE Wellesley…
;))

According to the Admissions staff, an EE “likely” means you’re accepted. Maybe not a guarantee–if you rob a bank or get expelled from school, you probably won’t get accepted! The advantage to EE is you get a decision early, unless your answer if “possible.”

Anyone knows what percentage of EE applicants get a Likely/ Possible / Unlikely?

rotckid here are some data: https://www.wellesley.edu/sites/default/files/assets/departments/admission/pdf/admissionreport2014.pdf

The EE %s are a bit inflated because they include the possibles who got in RD. You can subtract them out to get the actual “likely” %.

Also, at a local event we went to, a Wellesley admission rep said if you get a “likely” you’re basically in.

I’m so nervous. I really hope they look holistically because my school doesn’t weight GPAs or offer AP

Applied EE as well. Woah only 6 more days!

I posted this question as a separate thread yesterday, but I figure I should have just posted it here. It’s relevant to all of you too (well, those of you applying for financial aid), so: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wellesley-college/1742701-username-wellesley-id-number.html#latest

In summary, though: what’s my Wellesley ID number?

I think they sent you an email. the subject is “application acknowledgement” or something like that

@rainyears‌ if that’s to me, that’s where I got the username. That’s the only contact that I’ve had with them that has any info specific to my application.

Will EE notifications be posted at 5PM eastern on the 23rd? I need to set a timer

Yes it will
