Wellesley College Class of 2015- Early Decision

@bonni1993
Yeah I am from the mainland. I go to Nanjing Foreign Language School. I hope I will have enough time to hang out and do activities as well, haha.

Hey guys! I thought I’d join in! I’m also applying ED to Wellesley. I’m sooo excited to find out; I’ve been counting down the days until December 15 since day 60, when I submitted my application. So 34 days guys!

I’m considering also doing tennis, but honestly, i’m not going to Wimbleton or anything, so I’m not sure. I want to major in chemistry to become a pharmacologist.

Good luck everyone!

Do you know whether Dec 15th is the exact date? Or just somewhere around that?

Does anybody know how many students apply for ED this year?
I have heard that John Hopkins and Upenn had (at least) 130% number of last year applicants.

As you can see from last year’s Early Decision thread, the decision date last year was December 11th – here is the link:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wellesley-college/802088-wellesley-class-2014-early-decision-14.html</a></p>

11wangs, I don’t know if that’s the exact date but I know it should be by December 15th. So in that case, 32 days!!! Ahhh, I’m so excited/nervous/crazy!

Last year, the 11th was on a Friday, so maybe they want it on a Friday again? So if that was the case, it would be either the 10th or the 17th? This is just a guess, don’t quote me on it!

32 days! We can make it!

No joke, I have been driving everyone insane with the countdown. The freshman with the locker next to me knows, my boss at work knows, my entire calculus class knows! lol.
Also, I have a twin brother who’s applying ED to a different school, and two parents about to become empty-nesters at all at once, so you can imagine the anxiety in my house!

Only 32 days?
Oh no…I’m not that confident about getting accepted.
There have been problems arising from apps, and everything just seems like a bad sign.
Just yesterday, my counselor got a call from Wellesley saying that they didn’t get my SAT scores and subject test scores. I requested them from Collegeboard weeks ago, and I don’t know what the problem is.
And there is a counselor component for the ED agreement, and my counselor doesn’t know how to fill it out electronically, and I don’t know how to do it too, so right now, I’m missing the ED agreement.
This is all veryyy frustrating. I don’t know what to do…

@evelyn5356
you might want to call college board and ask them what’s going on, if they haven’t sent them and you requested weeks ago, I think you have the right to have them rush the scores in for you FOR FREE. that’s pretty ridiculous. I hope everything will be okay!!

as for the ED agreement, you should be able to print out a paper version on commonapp, fill it out and have your counselor sign it, and rush it in yourself.
here’s the link: https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Docs/DownloadForms/ED_Agreement.pdf</a></p>

good luck!!!

Question to those who had interviews:

are you able to track whether the interviewer sent in the interview report on MyWellesley? or do we have to call to make sure it’s in?

I’m so anxious these days. I don’t think I can wait any longer.

The ED agreement should be physically sent to them. I submitted it online, but Wellesley requested the physical version so I had to FedEx it over.
Hope everything is ok!

Also, if anyone finds out when Wellesley releases the admission results, please post it here!
Thanks!

Hmm, I looked over last year’s thread and the students there learned when admissions results would be released in the initial e-mail from the school (the one with the status on admissions materials).

@SinFused
I don’t know if there is a way to check, but I think they are suppose to file it right after the interview. Calling would be the safest option though.

I also saw that last year’ ED students found out about the decision date much earlier than us. Could this imply that there were a lot more applicants and the admissions office wasn’t sure when they would be done by? Also, should I send in the first part of my senior grades? Thanks=)

@valere
yeah I think I’ll call Monday to be sure
as for the senior grades, I would say send them as soon as you can. I sent mine in last Monday through fax by my counselor.

thanks!

I was so anxious that I looked through past threads to see when people got their results
2004:
snail mail sent on Dec 9th and received in the Northeast region by the 12th
2005:
also received around the 12th for Northeast region
2006:
it wasn’t very clear but it seemed like results were received around 10th to 12th
2007:
the 12th online
2008:
the 12th online by 5 PM EST
2009:
the 11th online by 5 PM EST

Sorry I’m not sure sure about other parts of the country and international.
I’m hoping that it would be out online by the 10th by 5 !

@SinFused
Thank you for the link!
I called collegeboard yesterday, but their business hours are only from Monday-Friday, so I will have to call back on Monday.
I hope I get this settled, but I’m worried that it might look bad to admissions officers…
So paranoid…

@evelyn5356
you’re welcome! don’t worry, the admissions counselor told me that they understand that there can be a lot of crazy complications during the app process, but as long as you get the things in as soon as possible and let them know what went wrong, you will be fine. So i suggest you call collegeboard first thing tomorrow and call Wellesley Admission right after to let them know what’s going on. Everything will be fine! and I wish you good luck!

@valere
lol I love that you went through all that stuff, thanks a lot and kudos to you mate!
Yeah I hope we get the decision as early as possible, this process is driving me nuts, I’m sure my friends and family are sick of me talking about it, too hahaha
My cousin told me that when she was applying to college, she called the admissions office almost every other day to ask whether the decision was out or not and eventually she was the first one to know the decision even before the college sent them out lol
I don’t know if I would fall into that craziness, but it might be possible. ;)

hi! glad to meet you guys!
i’m an international student and i’ve also applied ED for wellesley
…but now i get a question…(though it’s stupid)
can any one view her current status? i mean how can i know that the school has received all my materials?

@imwaiting
you might want to call Wellesley and ask them to send you the passcodes again. because they should’ve sent that email to you a week ago~ good luck!

@eunoia
Did you ever come across a fellow Wellesley woman who preformed significantly below the class adverage on one of the SAT I sections? If so, I would love a bit of comfort to help me keep faith that I am still in the running here.

Hello fellow Wellesley ED-er’s. How’s it hanging?
