<p>I am really bummed. I could have had 3 A's and 3 B's, but my APUSH teacher would not round my grade up to an A. I was 0.04% off!!!! 0.04!!!!!!!!!!!! So I have only 2 A's this semester. My dream school was UCLA, but obviously this has ruined my chances. I had a 4.0 unweighed (4.18 weighted) since freshman year. Now it's going to DROP. I'm planning on trying to get all A's and one B next semester. What are my chances for UCSB, UCI, UCD, UCSD? I would love either UCSB OR UCI.... I have almost no extracurriculars (I'm just shy.. and I don't like sports. Too bad.). Do I still have a chance at all? Did any of you guys get in with stats like mine??</p>
<p>You gotta relax! That one B will not ruin your life at all. Although, you are going to have to get more involved. With no EC’s, it’s hard to get into any college. Make sure your scores are up there too :)</p>
<p>Well, I do help out at my local temple. I am in VSA and I have an officer position in there. I reallly love VSA :3 </p>
<p>That’s something good to have! I still recommend you do more. I’m pretty shy myself and I do plenty of clubs, i just don’t talk to any of the people

<p>UCSB and Irvine aren’t uber competetive or anything. You have like nothing to worry about. Just get a 2000 or 32 and you’re pretty much in.</p>
<p>For UC GPA calculation, I believe you add a point to each AP class (up to 8). So your B in APUSH would still be 4.0.</p>
<p>Nevermind, apparently I only have one A this semester…I definitely messed up this semester. Now the highest GPA I can get is 4.08 :((( </p>
<p>Seriously chill, GPA isnt everything. If you make up for it with stellar test scores (2200+/32+) then you would still definitely be in the running for the top UCs. Just write awesome essays and try to join more clubs.</p>

<p>Colleges don’t just look at grades; extracurriculars are also a major consideration for admissions officers. Many universities look at a student holistically, meaning they want to know the student’s entire background. If you only care about your test scores and don’t seem to have any interests outside of school, they’ll translate it as lack of passion. You can have a 4.5 GPA, be valedictorian of your school, and get a perfect 2400 SAT score, but without any extracurriculars it’s really hard to differentiate yourself from the thousands of other applicants for any given school. What drives you? What do you want to accomplish? Drive yourself to excel in not just academics, but in other areas of your life as well.</p>
