Can someone tell me about the quality of the West Quad dorm at Umich in terms of room size and quality, bathroom and shower quality and food options? Thanks!!

I like West Quad. The best part is the location. I can sleep in a lot more than people on the Hill. We have big rooms which is obviously a plus. Also, we are connected to the union, so you can always go downstairs to get some fast food or small groceries. Our cafeteria is decent. There is always a sandwich and mexican food bar. So there’s always a backup plan if the main meals suck. Another fun thing is that a lot of athletes live in West. For example, there are six football players that live in my hall. On the the disadvantages. We have really old ****ty furniture. It limits the amount of stuff you can do with your room. Also, there is no air conditioning. It doesn’t matter now, but it sucked at the beginning of the semester. The bathrooms are fine, but the showers blow. Absolutely awful. You’ll get used to them, but it wasn’t fun at first. All in all, I love living in West. I haven’t met a single person that lives here and isn’t happy with it.

I was in West Quad many years ago. It is old but it has some character. Great location and rooms are decent sized. Scheduled for a renovation soon (next year maybe). Next to the Union which is a plus. WQ is typically one of the higher rated dorms.

100 times better than Northwoods lll which is awful!

West Quad, best quad.

Hands down, all there is to say about it.

2 years from now…But living in WQ may be annoying next year b/c South Quad will be under renovation. May be loud. West Quad itself is awesome though. Big rooms, great location. No complaints.

My son is living next to East Quad (closed for renovations) and whatever they are doing there does not seem to be to loud as most of it is interior work.
