no but i feel stupid now =p lol
i had no idea at all how laxtaxi or laxcoach was used or the meaning behind it...haha i definately didnt get the "apart from the obvious" part either..
how the hell did roses&clovers get that?? super smart...cough freak cough =) jk

I figured Laxtaxi is a mom driving her daughter to lacrosse games. I thought Laxcoach is a dad who coaches Lacrosse. (or would like to-instead of just on the sidelines :D)

I always thought rosesandclover got her name from ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra). cOllidE-I thought your name was either taken from the band Collide or the song Collide by Howie Day. Am I right?

Thacher boys are VERY cute. I checked out the boys at Lawrenceville (where I'm going) and they don't seem quite as noticeable, but maybe they were just pale from not seeing the sun..haha---

laxtaxi - great post. As the father of a teenage daughter you've basically captured my dating philosophy to a T. Reminded me of a scene from Clueless. The father greets the young man coming to pick up his daughter for a date with the following words "Just remember I've got a .45 and a shovel - and if you suddenly disappeared it doesn't look like anyone would miss you."

yep. glad to know I'm not the only fan :)

Haha...yeah...that's pretty much how my dad feels (roll of the eyes)

yes, thacher boys are quite cute. :) I think thacher got the "cutest boys" award...

haha this board is one of the funniest boards i've seen on here. i love canadiankid's remark! haha

i know! thacher boys are so cute.

haha kitkatbar..i actually hate my username.
at the time i signed up i didnt realize that CC would be able to supply me with so much very very important information&i would be on here often, so i didnt pay much attention to my username and picked the song i was listening to at the time..obviously collide by howie day like you said =)
ahh i posted a long time ago asking if there was any way i could change it, and id still like to know. i think something to do with clothes or sports that i like would be much better than a name of a song that ive long lost interest in.

Since some of the people are posting about the origin of their names rat her than the subject of this thread, I might as well shed some light on the where my username came from.

The term "seikuu" comes from an anime I watched a long time ago (The Law of Ueki), and 'seikuu' is a power granted to the protagonist, gained through balance. This power allows him to grow wings and fly. It used to be spelled Seikuu, but a while ago, it was changed to Seikū, my source being wikipedia. Its meaning was also changed from "mastery of air" to "natural scenery (nomenclature: mastery of the air)", whatever nomenclature means. (dictionaries didn't help me understand it)

hahahaha seikuu
"a blanket of silence enveloped this thread after that"

Hahahah Collide
:D

mine is a song too! hello sunshine by super furry animals (awesomest band name ever). the song goes "hello sunshine, welcome to my liiifee." pretty awesome.

mine is a nickname (longer than my actual name) that my friends invented.

"I guess the elevator wasn't the only thing going up and down." - CanadianKid

That is probably the funniest comment on this forum.

don't boarding schools usually frown upon PDA? but i doubt that just KISSING will get you in trouble. Now, if a guy was in the girls dorm making out, that might be a different story, but in all honesty I wouldn't worry about it unless you WANT a boyfriend.

Well if my D was in highschool here, of course I would expect her to have a boyfriend or more in four years. Yet they are discouraged at BS. Does that mean that you get to college with even less experience (I mean in a positive way)?

Since often I hear that college promotes a hooking-up type culture that is not based on traditional dating, isn't highschool a good place for boyfriends/girlfriends/dating?

Learning about relationships seems like a practical skill that people learn in Highschool. I think that really is a drawback to BS, isn't it?

When I revisited NMH, it was pretty obvious when some people were couples. They walked around holding hands, hugging, etc. I don't think the teachers cared very much, but I'm sure it would become a problem if they got overly involved. At my brothers BS they don't care much, and he gets plenty of...um..opportunities with girls.

I don't think boyfriends/girlfriends are discouraged. Blatant PDA might be frowned upon, but that is true everywhere, isn't it?
