you sound like stuck up rich kid so ur personal statement probably sounds stuck up. fix that.
being valedvictorian will get u into most schools but how small was ur class size?

OP, do NOT take @Perucho‌ advice. If you look at some of his last posts, he has written a very, very poor essay (which basically puts down all of American culture–excuse me, in his own words, Americans don’t have any culture to speak of), and is not in a position to offer you any kind of advice.

The ivies are reaches for everyone. I’d say you’re good for the mid tier uc’s. Berkeley and LA are always difficult to predict.

onlythebest13, you just proved that there is racism in america. trying to crush all opposition to the mainstream views even though you talk so much about freedom of speech in america

Perucho, you are such an insecure, hateful person. Nobody is trying to “crush all opposition”. You’re the one that’s trying to shut others down with your immature vitriol. Onlythebest13 didn’t even mention or imply anything AT ALL about your race. You’re delusional, dude.

LOL Perucho is a great at rustling all of your jimmies :^)
He has bemused you with his chicaneries.
You feel rused.
He has coaxed your into a snafu.

Back to the subject…You said you had a recommendation from an AP teacher, yet you took NO ap’s? were they offered at your school? Also, how were your subject tests? You have to submit 2. Doesn’t seem like there is any kind of “pop” thing here to pull their interest, unless your personal issues make a good essay of “what you overcame”.

I think the picture is also fake. The posts could also be written to inflame the reader which could also be fake. You never know whats real and not real on the internet.

Hey, thanks to everyone for their advice, I will definitely take it into consideration. My teacher is an AP math and science teacher, but the high school I attend does not believe in AP, but he has taught many AP classes. About the spoiled “rich white kid thing”, Im not going to deny that my family is very privileged, but that doesn’t mean that a student can’t overcome adversity. I had a hard time in school because there was no way to distinguish myself. I was pretty much booted from the public school system and I had failing grades. But I turned my life around, and I feel like that is at least worth something. I guess i though my “pop thing” was that I was coming from a very small independent school based on socratic method, and that despite all the “bad” things that I have gone through, in the end I was able to succeed. If this is not so, what are some ideas that I can talk about to separate myself from the “herd”.
