I am a senior in the IB Program and have also taken AP classes.
I'm in the top 5% (ranked 25 out of 727 students).
I am hispanic (Dont think that matters?)
I have 100+ volunteers hours and involved in FBLA, Interact Club, Key Club, Art Club, and Spanish Club.
That being said, I got a 1630 on my SATs. I actually took them twice and got the same score. For some reason, I am not a good SAT test taker and can't get a good score. :(
Everyone I've talked to says my SAT score is pathetic and will ruin my chances of getting into UT.
Is this true? What are my chances? I really want to go to UT (I live in Texas, btw). :|

You’ll get in on the auto-admit rule, won’t you, if you’re in the top 5%??

That’s what I always thought, but the UT representative at the campus tour this summer said that wasn’t true. She said just cause you’re top 8% doesnt mean you’re guaranteed an acceptance, but maybe she was just bluffing? Idk lol.

Why don’t you post your question on the UT board - people can help you more there.

Okay thank you
