I am currently a senior, ranked 89/556 (top 16%) (91 GPA/ 3.75) With an 1800 old SAT, 1270 New SAT and a 28 (27 English 28 math 31 reading) on the ACT. I am involved in Math, robotics club, and Science UIL, Varsity tennis since freshman year, Was in top band all the way until Junior year. I have around 10 hours of volunteer service ( should I make the effort of getting more hours?), I am a part of NHS and vice president of National French Honor Society. I am also a part of Nimitz Academic Decathlon.
I have dedicated a lot of time into my application and have made, what I believe are good essays.
Thank you guys, it’d be appreciated to see what people think.
I am applying for Applied Mathematics BS and physics BA for all 4 schools.
Strong candidate for TAMU and UT. You have a chance at Baylor and SMU. Service hours are lacking yes
Not a strong candidate for UT actually… The college of natural sciences averages a 30 ACT and you aren’t in the top 7%. UT only accepts 15% of its non-top 7% texas applicants.
SMU is a high match, but don’t expect much merit money. The schools is like 70k/year total.
Baylor is a match. Once again, it is an expensive school. Don’t expect much merit aid
Texas A&M is a match.
You need one or two safeties. Have you looked at Texas Tech, A&M satellite schools, UT satellite schools?
Do you have financial need?
My safety schools are UT Dallas (since I live by there), UNT and University of Houston. My first choice would be A&M. It’s the school I want to go the most.
UTD isn’t a safety;it’s a match.
If you got your ACT up, you’d have a much better chance
Baylor and SMU are not crazy selective. I would say you are in line for them and they are a match.
I think UT is a definite reach and A&M is a low reach/match. Have you already applied?
Is Texas Tech not on your radar?
It says UTD has me automatically accepted, because my ACT score is higher than a 26.
I was thinking of Texas Tech, but it’s really far away from where I live. I haven’t researched much of Texas Tech.
I have yet to apply to a&m that will be this weekend when I apply. I have for UT baylor and SMU
