Although I flopped in my SATs and got 1170 but I am to write the subject test is Biology and Chemistry and Math level two next month. My desired course of study is biochemistry.

Your SAT scores are too low for UCSB and UCSD. Not familiar with the British grading system so I cannot comment on your GPA but UC’s are very GPA focused but since both are very competitive you need high grades, competitive test scores, excellent essays and EC’s. SAT 2 subject tests will not be considered by the UC’s since they only take up to the December sitting. Race is also not considered in UC admission so no help there.
Uh, just a lil update for all you haters ouchea, I got into both USCB AND UCSD SO…
Congrats! Not sure you had any “haters” per se, just a helpful poster giving information while acknowledging a lack for familiarity with your grading system.
@oviandhisbros: No haters here. You asked for chances from anonymous posters (no ad coms) based on your stats and intended major. No one is privy to your complete application, so based on the averages for these schools, your stats did not seem competitive at the time. I did acknowledge I was not familiar with your grading system and the UC’s do look at other parts of your application such as essays and EC’s. So congratulations on your acceptances and next time do not post on any website if you do not like the answers to your question. Best of luck at which ever school you end up attending.
