From what I read on MSU's admissions website, MSU recalculates GPA with just core classes. If that's the case, will I get in with a recalculated GPA?

Thank you all so much!!
I apologize for the lengthy post, I wanted to be thorough.
I know I do not have any extra curriculars beside swim and work, as well as the downward GPA trend, but MSU is my dream school.
Should I ask my coach for a letter of recommendation or should I stick with teachers?
Is there a chance or a glimmer of hope? Should I even bother applying?

Thanks!

Of course you should apply! You said you qualify for in-state tuition, so I’m assuming you’re in-state, which will definitely help you in admissions. I think you’ll have a decent shot if you can raise your test scores a tad (aim at for a 23). You seem to be successful in your college classes and that is definitely a plus. I’m not really familiar with how MSU calculates GPA, but its possible if you found that on their website. It would be your best bet to email admissions about this (plus, it connects you with admissions reps which is always good!). I think asking your coach for a recommendation would be great for your application, especially if you think it will be a great one. Best of luck to you!
